SunflowerGirl100 posted this late in the day yesterday, but I thought I would repost for those that missed it:
Facebook Announcement from Georgia "I have bad news, good news, and hopefully great news— The bad news: This is the second year I’ve tried to break down the 2016 ‘Our IX Lives’ Christmas special for newspapers… I just don’t think it can happen. We’d lose a lot of the details and fun bigger moments, like the cardboard car chase and Laundry Canyon. I may share link to the original strips online here and on Twitter this season with readers, but I just don’t think it’s going to work in newspapers. Hopefully we will get it into print in a future book! I’m sorry if you’ve been looking forward to it, I was too. But this means… The good news: This means a new Christmas special is coming!!! Look for it to start the first week of December! The great news: Ok, I’m a little nervous about this one because it’s not quite done yet, but I’ve been working hard and I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen… It looks like we WILL have a 2021 BCN calendar! It should go into the Zazzle shop around the second week of December. I wish it could be sooner, but that’s realistically when I can (hopefully!!) finish up the artwork for it. This means I will be postponing my originals sale until January or February of 2021, because I can’t tackle mailing out paintings & prints AND artwork for the 2021 calendar in December. We can always have the originals sale, but we’ve got a pretty hard deadline when it comes to New Year’s Day In the next couple of weeks I’m hoping to add the Christmas 2020 holiday cards and mugs to the Zazzle shop. And Beatrix’ “It’s been the week from HECK, in a year or straight up POOP” commemorative 2020 ornaments, magnets, and mugs. And I will be adding masks to the Zazzle shop too! Yes—MASKS! And (hopefully! EVERYONE THINK GOOD THOUGHTS! CLAP IF YOU BELIEVE!! 2021 calendars!!
I’m grateful with for my breaking cat news family for George’s Talent for my extended orb family here as well as my extended family all around the country and especially for my six rescue special needs cats and my foster dog.
I wish to express my Thankfulness. I visit many a sites. Some are hardcore Hate Festivals. The ones I enjoy are the comics. Though some of those can fling some really hurt feelings. BUT here in this tiny corner of the world… people are expressing love. Mostly love for those who are yelling at me to share some of my meal with them! (Grin!) But still… it is a place where cats purr! Thank you. Many a times… I need it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I have so much to be grateful for. I’ve had a lot of hard times in my life, but here I am, 70 years old, in very good health, with a roof over my head and food in the refrigerator. That makes me a very fortunate person, especially in these hard times.
By the way, where are the robber mice? I’m sure they would like pie. Aren’t they having Thanksgiving? Why haven’t they even attempted to steal that pie?
This is a bargin day for well wishes!!! It’s my birthday (and a big one!) and Thanksgiving. Not always fun to share the day with Thanksgiving, but I get to spend this one with my friend Don, my Panther Princess Nushi and my Queen of Fluff Kira!!! I’m VERY thankful for that!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it and lots of love to the Mega Orb!!!! Please share what you are thankful for!!! I will start off by stealing the one I know most, if not all, of us are thankful for, and that’s the Mega Orb!! I don’t know what I would have done when I was going through Nushi’s FIP treatment without the Orb. And you all make me laugh and feel good about humanity which is sorely needed and appreciated!!!
((((((((((((((((((((Mega Orb and Team Nushi)))))))))))))))))))))))
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I suspect Goldie might actually get her paws on some food! BTW, always loved Star Trek TNG, along with DS9 (some real good ethical episodes) and Babylon-5 which kind of ran concurrently with the adventures of Picard and crew back in the ‘90s. I get my fix of all the Star Trek shows on the H&I channel whenever I need one from 8PM to 1 AM weeknights while MeTV has a lot of other classic sci-fi on late Saturday night, especially if you’re an Irwin Allen fan of his shows in the ’60s along with Kolchack and The Invaders.
All through my youth, I would wake up on Thanksgiving to the smell of Mom making turkey stock, with onions, celery and other ingredients. The whole house smelled wonderful. Although it had been years since Mom cooked because of the dementia, this is the first Thanksgiving where she is not with us. Miss you Mom.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here on the Orb and to Georgia and the world she created. I look forward to all of you, each and every day.
For hard-core original Trekkies, a list of some of my fave episodes. A Piece of the Bacon. And the Children Shall Feed. The Robber-Mice Maneuver. Where No Cat Has Horked Before. I, Thud. The Kitty on the Edge of your Dresser. For the Cabinet is Hollow and I Have Found the Kibble. Whom Cats Destroy. Let That Be Your Last Lampshade. Puck’s Brain. The Trouble With Kibble (the bowl is empty). Tomorrow is Yesterday (in 2020). The Crate. The Shredded Curtain. Spectre of the Fun. Errand of Furry. A Taste of Arm-and-Leg-Chomp. The Purry Years. The Gamesters of the Laundry. The Kitty in the Dark. And of course: Obsession, The Menagerie, and Catspaw.
Happy Thanksgiving! So grateful for this fun comic, and all the lovely people involved – creator Georgia, family, readers! Thanks for being a nice community.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! I am thankful for each and every one of you, and for Georgia and her family, who bring us to this wonderful Orb! And super thankful that the bone density is obviously still excellent so the fall I took at the laundromat yesterday did not result in any broken bones! Decided I would put the cat beds in to wash while I went to p.t. (laundry and therapy are in the same building). And thank Cat I was the only person in the laundry at the time! Distracted and thinking ahead, I turned a corner around a row of washers and tripped over a row of plastic chairs. Somehow managed to hit that hard tile floor with both knees, both elbows, both hands, jarring shoulders, neck, hips, and lower back. After the initial shock wore off, went on to therapy to try to ward off stiffness but did an abbreviated session. This morning everything aches. But the two things that annoy me most are 1) That prior to the fall I was feeling unusually good and energetic; and 2) That the building owner has an abundance of security cameras in the laundromat and if he watches the tapes is probably going to be laughing his @$$ off at the sight of me flying halfway across the room. At least we now know I can get up off the floor on my own! Everyone have a safe and happy Turkey Day—love you all!
I am glad to see that Goldie is feeling confident enough to push her way in to the table as well as the Good Boys. How can a few cats become 500 or more at times?
Happy Thanksgiving to Georgia, her family, her cats, and all of her devoted fans. I am most thankful for all of these. Guaranteed love and smiles every single day.
Thanksgiving, a.k.a. Turkey Day: A happy, healthy Thanksgiving to all here, their kith, kin, and ilk (the latter includes all the gnu people who have recently discovered BCN.) This is also a good day to pardon all the turkeys you’ve encountered over the past year. Every year since 1987 the President has pardoned a turkey. I keep hoping that some year, a president with a sense of humor will pardon himself or herself for getting elected. This is because the epithet “turkey” has two meanings: One is an unimaginative, obstructive, obliviot. The other is someone who is always willing to overextend and over-commit themselves. Try saying, “I’ll do it!” as fast as you can, three times.
Turkey-free Thanksgiving: This holiday is sponsored by the Turkey from the comic “B.C.,” One of my favorite characters of all time. This year, we are honoring him by having “Garbage Can Pizza”: whatever you have that goes well on pizza. Not sure how or why I started the name, possibly because there are so many different ingredients. The human mind is a strange thing. Mine is stranger than most. In response to my saying, “I just had a thought,” a friend replied, “Be nice to it, it’s in a very strange place.” I responded, deadpan, with a Spockian eyebrow, “Indeed, it is. Would you care to hold onto it so it doesn’t get lost?”
Good Grief Day: Charles Schulz’s Birthday. I’ll always have a special, fond, warm memory of this strip, which I grew up with. It is hard to give adequate praise of someone who is certainly among the greatest comic artists of all time.
National Cake Day: It is only bad luck that this year it falls on a day renowned for pie. However, because of this, you can eat a balanced diet: pie in one hand, cake in the other. Damn the blood sugar, warp speed. Make it so.
Soon as I started to debone the turkey (would cook faster), my little Vlad asked for some. I told him that he had to wait until after it was cooked. And after it was cooked, and I pulled it out, Sebastian came over and demanded some. I told him he had to wait until after it sat for a bit, while I baked my biscuits. If I let them, they would have eaten the whole thing then.

As performed by The Late Great Louis Armstrong: What a Wonderful World
I see 500 cats, Star Trekers, too
Exploring pie is what they do
And I say to myself: What a Wonderful World!
…….
I see happy kids, and Nana there,
Apart or together, we all still care
And I think to myself: What a Wonderful World!
…….
The cats and the Humans all smiles with the pie,
So many new things are right there to try
I see the orb friends all join
At their tables, too
They’re really saying “I love you!”
…….It’s been one rough year,
This we all know,
But it will get better,
Let’s make it so,
Then we can all day again: What a Wonderful World!
Then we can all day again: What a Wonderful World!
Oh yeah!

Come pie with me, let’s pie, let’s pie today
If you can shooosh some whipped cream
There’ll be a cat livin’ a dream
Come pie with me, let’s pie, let’s pie away
Come pie with me, a big slice to cure any blues
In Nana-land, she made pies by hand
And wishes she could share over the zoom
Come pie with me, don’t even have to chew
Once we’re full up to here
We’re grateful for all we hold dear
You may hear
Angels cheer, ‘cause we’re together
Weather-wise, it’s such a lovely day
You just say grace then we’ll stuff our face
Down to the very last trace
It’s perfect for a pie-ing holiday, they say
Come pie with me, let’s pie, let’s pie
Forks up, let’s pie today
