O.T. – to all my fellow Orbsters: Gong Hei Fat Choy! Friday is Chinese New Year’s and the beginning of the Year of the Metal Ox! I hope this lunar year will bring better health to Georgia and everyone and also prosperity to all!
The only way to have a romantic evening would be to have the Intruder come sit on the cats and kids while they go get take out from a fancy restaurant and then drive to a favorite lover’s lane parking spot with a beautiful view.
Georgia did a short interview with a friend yesterday that you can find on the BCN Facebook page. I think it was a Facebook live video so I don’t think there is an option to see it outside of Facebook, but I think it is probably available to people who don’t have accounts, though since I have an account I don’t know for sure. So if you aren’t totally opposed to Facebook check it out.
Thank you all for the good wishes, I survived the Night of the Reflux (doesn’t that sound like some cheesy 70s horror movie). It doesn’t usually hit quite so severely, but the fitful sleep did provide some odd dreams. The only one I really remember involved my cats and a giant stinkbug that was too big to flush down the toilet. On that note, everyone have a wonderful Valentine’s weekend! ; )
I had a cat that sang the Hungry Cat Blues . Sometimes the Girl Cat would join for a Duet. When all three of them (the 2nd Boy Cat wasn’t very vocal) started singing they became the Hungry Cat Choir (or Chorus if one them started singing and the other two picked up the refrain). I miss those cats.
Strange kitty genetics going on around here. And I’d love to get a picture, but so far, no luck. One of the porch strays that we feed has the features and coloring of a Siamese, mostly. It’s face looks like a typical black and white tuxedo and all four paws are pure white but the rest looks exactly like a Siamese. Looks to be full grown too, so I don’t know if we will ever get close enough to check it out.
It had been on the porch when we got home and when Jora opened the door, Reboot leapt out to give chase with Database right behind to back him up. By the time Jora got the first load of groceries to the kitchen, Database had already decided that Reboot could be on his own when the temperature is in the teens. Reboot came in a few minutes later. He doesn’t like the cold any better than Database.

(For some reason my go-to anti-earworm is the Star Trek: Voyager theme music, which I seem to have memorized for life for, um, reasons.)

Well, here it is: From Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: Be Our Guest
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Though the table’s quite a mess
Have a glass of wine with steak
And we’ll provide the rest
Soup du jour
Hot hors d’oeuvres
Your cat waiter’s here to serve!
And the kibble
Is delicious
Please don’t mind some fallen dishes
I can sing, I can serve
Mew with vigor and with verve
And a dinner here is never second best
Sit back, unfold your menu
Take a glance and then you’ll
Be our guest
Oui, our guest
Be our guest!
…….
Lovely soup
Glass of wine
Fine filet, it’s all divine
Place your order and we’ll serve
A dinner really so sublime!
You’re alone
Just you two
There is naught you need to do
I’ve got this all in paw, you see
I’m your feline maitre d’
We tell jokes! I do tricks
Lupin, watch the candlesticks!
And we’ll all take care of you
That you can bet
We’ll be here all alert,
Come have a nice dessert
And be our guest!
