I don’t get it. A tap dancing log? I am really lost here. Albeit probably the only 90’s mystery show I watched was Murder She Wrote I guess, but I just don’t het this.
Man I loved Twin Peaks! Who killed Laura Palmer? Agent Dale Cooper, Sherriff Harry Truman with Lucy Andy and Hawk, the Log Lady, Albert (the late Miguel Ferrer), Audrey Horne and her Dad, Donna Hayward, James, Norma and Ed, the General and his rebel son and of course Bob and others. David Lynch came up with some mind boggling stuff. The revival that was out on Showtime a few years ago was good as well as bizarre too with some interesting music at the end of each episode at the Roadhouse and still left the plot unresolved with Agent Cooper and Laura hanging at the end of its final episode as well, not knowing what year it was. You can watch that show many times and see something new each time. David Duchovny of X-Files fame played a cross dressing FBI agent as well!
Just in case you forgot … Laura’s murderer is finally revealed as her father Leland Palmer (Ray Wise) who has been possessed by Bob ever since he was a kid.
Since I worked 2nd shift most of the 90’s and never watched much TV in any case, this is all a mystery to me. But strips that reference books are another story…..as it were ;-)
completely lost too, so googled “dancing log Twin Peaks” and got a wiki for the Log Lady character who had apparent supernatural connections with a possessed log.
Twin Geeks! (Don’t get me wrong, as I loved the show, too!). And with the aliens reference by Goldie, a dash of X-Files for good measure! … Now, where’s that ’ Dang ’ fine cup of coffee?! … :)
Too bad all the major parapsychological memes were played out in the 70s by a ground-breaking (and ground-skidding) investigative team fiction: “Scooby-Doo”. However, that series could have used more coffee.
Hello! Studies show that buzzy mouse is objective the best toy. WIf you were other cats, I’d ask what your favorite to is, but since you are People, I’ll ask this: what is your favorite people-toy?
Certainly never watched any ‘90s mysteries like what they’re describing here. Although it looks like Sophie is saying their watching The X-Files. Did try watching that a couple of times, never understood why it was popular when David Duboreme made it so hard to watch without falling asleep or changing the channels after a few minutes.
We used to watch “Murder She Wrote” with our daughter when she was in grade school. We’d keep track of how many times coffee was served and the elapsed time when the first pot was made. We also kept track of the first wrong arrest. We got the formula down.
Alright, you all got me. I never watched Twin Peaks. I was too young for it when it first ran. But people have talked about it for years.
Tonight as I was scanning through, looking for something to watch, and there it is. So I’m starting the series. Sounds like I am in for a very strange and wild ride…

Honey, this show’s so wrong but still I’m crazy ’bout it
Been watchin’ too long ‘cause I can’t do without it
Every chance it gets it seems to weird me more and more
But each turn commands attention much stronger than before
I know it’s messin’ with my brain
So why can’t I refrain?
Ain’t that peculiar?
Peculiar as can be
Ain’t that peculiar?
A peculiar-arity, hey, hey

The Moody Blues: I Know You’re Out There Somewhere
The truth is out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know I’ll find it somehow
In spite of aliens and Sasquach!
…….
Outside it’s dark and stormy!
But I’ve left behind my doubts and fears!
My log’s a tap dancing ballerina!
And the strength this fine coffee
Calls for a slice of cherry pie!
Now I’m ready to fight vampires
And gives the ghosts what for!
…….
The truth is out there somewhere
Somewhere, somewhere
I know I’ll find it somehow
In spite of aliens and Sasquach!

Top ten weirdest “Log Lady” quotes:
1) “One day my log will have something to say about this.”
2) “The dog ate so much earth it died.”
3) “This is a message from the log.”
4) “What really is creamed corn?”
5) “Shut your eyes and you’ll burst into flames.”
6) “The answer is within the question.”
7) “I do not introduce the log.”
8) “My log does not judge.”
9) “I have spit my pitch gum out.”
10) “You can ask it now.”
