Woody and his Round-Up Gang (Jessie, Bullseye, and Stinky Pete) felt the same way when space toys came in after two words happened: 1) Sput and 2) Nik.

That’s one of his Earls of wisdom.

I enjoyed the cowboys too, but my real heroes were spacemen: Buck Rogers, Captain Video, Tom Corbett, and especially Flash Gordon. (Can you tell?)

What about the Cisco Kid, Sunset Kit Carson, Wyatt Earp, Sky King, and the Rifleman?

Especially seniors…

Especially anyone is a hero who shows kindness to people who get regularly abused. Especially if they don’t act like they deserve a medal and a parade for it. Just do it. ❤️

I had Roy Rogers pajamas as a kid

I met him as a small kid at the Hudson store in Detroit . Somewhere , I have an image of it .

Now, Earl, are you going to become one of those?!?

What I would like is to have my friends back that has passed before me, lonely without them. Also more family contact would be nice too!

You can still watch the old time westerns just search your cable listings. I have Comcast and you can watch them in the 200 series channels. Also I watch a few channels over the air which plays nothing but westerns. I just wish it was a way to record them.

My heroes have always been cowboys. And they still are it seems. Always in search of, and one step in back of themselves and their slow moving dreams.

I also watched Rin-tin-tin and Lassie.

Roy was my favorite.

I was a Roy Rogers fan until I ate at one of his restaurants.

We would ask each other “Would you rather get beaten with whips and chains, or go to Roy Rogers?”

Best singing cowboy was Ernie Dean, but no one remembers him.

Being “of an age” myself (and an advanced age at that), I completely agree with Earl here. But it behooves the recipient of kindness and compassion to say “Thank You” to the giver. Believe me, doing so pays remarkable dividends. 8>)

Thought about this the other day. Most of my heroes we’re Baseball players from the 60’s and 70’s. Jackie, Willie, Tony Gwenn, Johnny Bench… Still heroes, but I like Earls new outlook!

Somebody may have already posted the chorus from Willie Nslson’s song, but, what the hay.

All those old cowboys showed kindness and compassion to those they helped even though emphasis was often placed on the violence getting the bad guys. But some even packed a guitar so they could sing in the saddle while chasing those bad guys. I remember cuz I’m the same age as Earl.
