I thought it was baseball caps on backwards that did it?

Though in my mind that also just says ‘simpleton’…whereas they introduced the baseball cap to police in Australia so wearing them the right way also says to me ‘thug in blue uniform’.

If you’re really cool, YOU set the fashion. You can wear anything you want.

Ironically Hobbes looks pretty cool in frame 2. He looks like a character out of a Clint Eastwood western. And without a doubt there is no cooler movie than a Clint Eastwood western. (Well maybe tied with Steve McQueen or Sean Connery.)

He bought it from the J.Peterman catalog…“The Urban Sombrero”. I believe it was featured on the cover of the catalogue. LOL!

Hobbes has it backwards… the sombrero doesn’t make you cool, you make the sombrero cool.

Being cool means also being jugdy.

I agree completely. For as many sombreros I saw for sale in Tijuana and as many of them that I see hanging on the walls of the homes of my friends(not mine), I never see anyone, outside a mariachi band, wearing them. Maybe that’s for the best.

I looked up the original air dates for Calvin and Hobbes; if things line up the way it should, the sabbatical reruns should be done by February.

Hobbs is right, sombreros are cool because they keep you cool in the hot Sonoran Desert sun.

Once I went to a Mexican restaurant on my birthday. Their way of celebrating was to have me wear a sombrero for a picture. My smile was insincere.
