Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Welcome to the first annual. Snooze-a-thon. Participants are instructed to take their fuzzy blankets and assume comfortable positions. Any questions?
Elvis-Anum: What if we can’t find a comfortable spot?
The Queen: You have a ten-minute grace period to find one.
Elvis-Anum: But what if I can’t?
The Queen: I really don’t think that will be a problem.
They have trained all year for this. This is it, where we separate the kittens from the cats. Pick your spot, find your focus, and nap like you mean it!
I’m afraid I can’t participate today … I spent more than enough time napping over the past two months; I think I’m all caught up.
In other news, I received a belated birthday present from my sister yesterday – a supper cuddly hand-crocheted lap blanket! It was appropriated by Akiro almost as soon as I put it down!
OT Goose. Today is 3 weeks since I adopted him. He’s settling in nicely. Enjoying looking out the front window at the squirrels, chipmunks and blue jays. When I sit in my recliner he jumps up into my lap and snuggles in. The only problem I am having with him is he scratches and bites. None were provoked. Just out of the blue he’s attacking me. Any suggestions on what to do??? Declawing is not an option.
Our 6 month old kitten is delighted with fuzzy blankets. In addition to napping there’s burrowing underneath them, kneading them, and nibbling on the fleece.
I just realized it was November 2 and I hadn’t turned the page on my calendar. Now my home office has climber Puck watching over it just like my work office that I don’t spend much time at anymore.
Goldie sounds like how I used to be whenever I saw the sign for Matress Firm. I don’t know why, but that used to remind me of some of the old wrestling and monster truck commercials. It always seemed some “macho” male voice who’d say something like “Monday! Monday! Monday! See Hulk Hogan take on Rowdy Roddy Piper in WrestleMania XXXVII! That’s Monday! Monday! Monday! It’s gonna be HUGE!” or “Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday! Come see Bigfoot and Gravedigger at the Springfield Auditorium! One day only! Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday! Then Wednesday! Wednesday! Wednesday! See Carzilla at the Springfield Auditorium! It’s gonna be HUGE!” I’d see the Mattress Firm sign and for some reason I had to picture it as those old commercials do I’d do my imitation of those commercials, complete with cheesy macho voice. “Sunday! Sunday! Sunday. Only on a Firm Mattress!”
Turns out that while Reboot was running around Halloween night, he tangled with something that gave him a long scratch behind and around his left ear. Completely missed his ear though. We are keeping it clean (he loves the warm damp rag) and it looks to be healing just fine. At least he’s current on all his shots. He tried to escape again today but it was raining so Jora was able to catch him on the front porch. Update decided that if Reboot got to go out, she did too. Nope. She needs to stay inside.
Last night we got together with our neighbors to honor the feral cats that left us too soon, our Ginger Tom and their Lady Grantham. Albert’s Man had a lovely memorial plaque made for our garden. You can see it on my IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVyRwTXLPll/

Finally, a type of marathon I could actually do! 26.2 miles? Nah, 26.2 cozy, cozy hours.

Puck is surprised, Elvis is annoyed, Lupin is . . . oblivious. There are some advantage to being deaf.

Elvis wants to know: Are you gonna nap or are ya gonna talk. Talking is not an acceptable answer.
DorseyBelle about 3 years ago
Elvis takes his nap preparation very seriously, as he kneads the blanket with great concentration.

Elvis will snuggle when he wants to snuggle, and not on the word of command from some bossy bint.

Wow! Goldie is all in for the snuggling but will they sleep while they snuggle?

I loved the detailing in the last frame. Since good old Lupin is unable to hear so he’s the only one not startled by Goldie’s loud announcement.

Amateurs. With experience, any decent cat can sleep 25 hours a day, or even more.
