Then there were the two cotton bugs who rented a room, and he became the lessor of two weevils.

And when TWO of the characters got into the room-renting business, and also collaborated to steal from their tenants, those tenants were dealing with the evil of two lessors.

This one was worse than wicked, it was evel!!

The set up and execution was so swift that I was able to survive this pun almost unscathed. Every Pastis strip is like watching an episode of Bertie and Jeeves and hearing, “What’s the worst that could happen?” I genuinely look forward to seeing how far Pastis can go and it’s pretty far.

How many times do I have to tell you? No more puns!

Stephan is kind of a daredevil himself … with some of his puns.

Don’t pay attention to them, Stephan! They’re just jealous that they didn’t come up with it. I love reading PBS and having a punny thing happen on my way to the forum.

I often criticize Pastis’ long, contrived pun setups. This one flowed nicely. Good work this time.

I couldn’t resist. Any way to annoy Rat is the highlight of my day.

Pig owns an apartment building? Only for Pastis puns.

A friend of mine in college was a sculler. He liked to compete in both single and crew rowing, and he won championships in both. He was the best oar of two levels.

I like the way Pastis creates these unlikely scenarios just for the sake of the pun. By tomorrow we’ll have forgotten that Pig ever owned an apartment, and it will likely never be brought up again.

OK—-I got this pun and liked it—-but I bet anybody who was born after 2000 has no idea who Evel Knievel is.

Oh, oh or pig could have said “I rented the place to two former motorcycle stunt men” and goat could have said “ahh, the lessor to two Kinevils!” I know, I know….my bad, sorry.
