Can’t sleep in-the younger kitty jumps on the bed and then pummels my bladder to get up and feed him. Lupin will be lucky if he is still alive by 6:am.
I love the classic polaroid camera Pucky has. The one with the rainbow stripe is a SX-70 One Step Rainbow Camera, I believe. I never owned one, but I use to love the commercials with James Garner and Mariette Hartley.
Where G = Gravitational Constant, M & m = Masses of the two particles, & R = is the distance between the object’s center of mass (Lupin’s body) above a chosen reference point (the bed).
Close to the bed’s surface, the gravitational field is approximately constant, and the gravitational potential energy of an object reduces to… Oh never mind. Suffice it to say that the People are unwilling subjects in Lupin’s Newtonian experiment. Although, they will receive a footnote when Lupin publishes his paper in the Classical and Quantum Gravity Journal.
Ha! This really sums up Lupin. The pure joy, the mischief, the curiosity and adventure, all the things that make Lupin wonderful and exasperating to People everywhere.
That cat is lucky in his humans. He would have been badly hurt or badly offended by the time some of us realized it was him. Don’t do things like that if your human has been abused. I had a friend who had his college room mate dangling from his hands around his throat before he woke up enough to know it wasn’t his father trying to kill him.
I have enjoyed this week of Lupin classics SO much and this feels like the perfect one to end on. Ahh, the memories of Lupin jumping down onto the bed as hard as he could, lol!! He was one in a billion. I hope you have enjoyed this week, many thanks again to my editor for picking these out and celebrating Lupin with us!
Thanks to both of my editors for all of their incredible support and caring during this time, and thank you to all of you, too! ❤️❤️❤️ It has made a hard time easier to feel less alone in mourning our good bad boy.
Hello!! Today I am appearing on an online telethon benefitting Ronald McDonald House!! Tune in live at 6pm eastern time/3pm pacific time here:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U7yzHnNdqFc
I think I am going to teach how to paint a night sky. Folks often ask how I paint the nighttime skies in BCN and I promise they are actually pretty easy and fun! I may even paint somewhat big, so the camera can see it, which is verrrry different from how I usually work. Hopefully that will be fun too! Hope you’ll tune in!
This summer, Grandma and I will have to get used to dealing with a cat again. Our daughter’s family just adopted a kitten that allegedly is at least part Maine Coon Cat. They named it Burns Sebastian because they brought it home close to Burn’s Night and because our granddaughter insisted on the Sebastian part. That takes care of two of the three names Old Possum says each cat needs. Burns joins the families one rabbit, two dogs and 11 chickens.
Has anybody heard anything about how @piwismom is doing after surgery? I’m sending out prayers and positive thoughts that the surgery was successful and her recovery is going well.
When I went out to get the mail and fill the feeders today, I took my snow hoe for balance. It gives more stability than the broom. I also put the handset from my cordless phone in my pocket and tested it to see if I can still contact the base from the end of my driveway. I can. That gives me a short term backup.
I tried to carve out a hollow with the snow hoe, but the temperatures overnight got down near zero F so the plow pack was a little more solid than yesterday. I couldn’t lower it at all. I was able to get over it by carefully and slowly stepping into my boot prints and knee prints from yesterday. Temps aren’t supposed to get above freezing until mid week, and then we’re supposed to get rain followed by more cold and snow. That could turn the plow pack into an ice mountain! It’s so frustrating that the road is clear, but I can’t get out of my driveway and my neighbor who had the snow plow moved.
Brings back memories…we had a small but dense little black kitty we named Ptolemy (Tommy). He would jump up on the bed towards morning to wake us up. This little act was akin to dropping a 22 lb Bowling ball on an unsuspecting tummy! He was successful…he certainly woke us up! I miss him, (sniff).

He’s a good boy, loves his people
Loves mornings, testing gravity, too
He’s a cute boy, according to Elvis
Loves nosedives and Polaroids, too
It’ll be a long day livin’ in da pink house
There’s a stampede runnin’ through the bed
He’s no bad boy, ‘cause he’s making us laugh, yeah!
He’s no bad boy, just makin’ everyone mad
And he’s free, free fallin’
Yeah he’s free, free fallin’

From the movie An American Tail: Somewhere Out There
Somewhere, out there beyond the Moon’s light,
We all think of someone who’s now out of sight,
Somewhere, out there, some are saying a prayer,
That we’ll all remember the joy and love from our friend.
…….
And even though we know how very far away he is,
It’s nice to think of his adventures beyond the Rainbow Bridge
And when we start to miss all his adventures, it’s good to know our friend,
Will continue here in all the comics, and the love will never end!
…….
Somewhere, out there, love will see us through
We’ll do more than just remember
Somewhere out there, out where dreams come true!
