If he was a hero, he would’ve told us what’s in it.

If anyone ever actually read all of those EULA terms, and actually comprehended their full significance, they’d never hit “agree.”

I used to actually do that. Then for awhile, I pretended/skimmed. Now I just do what it takes to keep moving toward my goal… with the occasional foray into the fine print whenever I feel like being bored would be good for me.

Why bother? The terms are clear enough: “Agree to being monitored and giving up your legal rights, or you can’t use our product. (BTW: Good luck in getting a refund.)”

Terms? I’d rather pay tribute to those who actually read the full article before posting a comment.

I find it hard to believe that someone who actually reads things would be considered a hero. Ours is not a society that has a lot of respect for intelligence or education.

The bar to being called a hero has been lowered so far that Mike Pence is being called a hero for doing his job despite trying to weasel out of it.

I reckon that any contract greater than 2 pages should be invalid because it was obviously signed under duress.

All the Trump staff who sat and watched silently when the violent insurrection was taking place are now ‘heroes’ for not lying when they are under oath?

I keep getting notices about change to terms and when I try to read them, my head starts to hurt. I wish they would write them in plain English, but then they couldn’t hide all tricks.

I’ve seen respected attorneys admit they have trouble understanding all the wordy terms. Not much hope for the rest of us!

If you read the terms for Microsoft Word, you will find that anything that you create with the application becomes their intellectual property.

The definition of “Hero” has changed, that bar is now so low that you would be a “hero” if you walked by a wallet on the sidewalk and did not take the money and credit cards

Agree or go away. The choice is simple. Frankly, I couldn’t bring myself to read the whole quote on the tombstone.

Gotta realize – the fine print is what was engraved on the very foundation ring on the ninth level of Hell in Dante’s Divina Commedia, which also has become a euphemism for our current state of affairs.

Some sites hide verbal Easter eggs at the very end.

Or simply reject all software with a EULA too long to read. A bonus is that you won’t need a computer, as you won’t have any software to run. :-(

I do wonder about the media labeling someone a “hero”, when all they did was pick up a phone and call the authorities. “Good citizen” isn’t enough anymore?
