Even with no shortage of food and the lack of a need to hunt anymore, some people still want to have their weapons and kill animals. Some things never change.

Bible stories like the original Eve and the Apple made young boys resent girls even more than normal. And then there was nicely-nice custom, “Girls first!”

And further, for a man to politely hold a door open for women and girls seems to be passé. The last couple of times I did that for a young woman, I got a dirty look as if I was making a rude political statement. (—

Just when I (like most older men) think we have the rules figured out — they’ve changed them on us. Truly it seems, “La Donna e’ mobile.”

a] It kind of says there is no sin when you don’t know good from evil, as long you follow the rules.

b] Also, if you can’t follow petty dictates, you can expect exile.

c] Or, you have passed the functional test of the free will system & are ready to go out into the world.

“Eve said to Adam, get away from that tree – you’ll pick the fruit, and they’ll blame it on me.” Lyrics to song I heard ages ago, but I couldn’t find any info on who wrote it.

Well……if she took the time to not just read the story(s) but actually meditate on it, she would see the lesson that was being taught. In this case, it wasn’t the “apple” ( fact is, the Bible doesn’t specify what kind of fruit it was). The point was what the fruit stood for or symbolized. As the comic shows above, they were not lacking for food at all. They had far more food available to them than they could eat. But this one particular tree (1 out of 10s of thousands or more) was off limits to them. God reserved it for himself. It represented the fact that God reserved to himself alone the right to decide between right and wrong. The first human couple had full dominion over everything, except just this one thing. But they allowed themselves to be swayed by an unfaithful angel, who used some form of ventriloquism to make it appear the serpent spoke. This disloyal angel (who became Satan) and the two humans desired what did not belong to them. 1000’s of years later, we see the results today when humans think they can decide for themselves what is right and wrong.

I do not know who wrote the Bible: God, Moses, the Apostles …

I do know who edited it however, the Roman Emperor Constantine. He, through a council of bishops (no mention of the pope in these proceedings), literally decide what is and is not gospel.

At least he had all the texts translated from the various languages they were written in into Latin. Unfortunately for Rome, but fortunately for later scholars the empire went the way of the dodo (which still existed then) and Latin stopped evolving.

Also in the process, he took what used to be a Middle Eastern religion like Judaism and Islam and made it essentially a white, European religion. Some Middle Eastern concepts like welcoming strangers into the community were lost.

As if any amount of rewriting could make the bible at all believable. A 2,000 year old story to control and enslave the masses. Sorry if some can’t accept that. Let the Christian hate commence.
