Yeah. We’re at that age Arlo. The herd is beginning to thin out.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Despite knowing the story, I was heartbroken when Raquel’s character died in “The Three Musketeers”.

These days I assume that if I’ve heard of someone, they’re dead.

Ms Welch was the epitome of femininity, beauty and sexuality for us men coming of age in the 60s and 70s; and as we all matured we realize that she, along with most women, were persons of greater substance and significance to us.

Hail and farewell to all of our friends that are passing! Time keeps marching relentlessly forward and we are not far behind you.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poke me in the ribs and cackle, telling me, “You’re next.”

They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Racquel Welch looked great in the movie Fathom.

It seems that every day this year so far, a person who was a big part of my youth has died. I almost hate to look at the daily news each morning.

I thought today’s strip was going to be about Janis trapping Arlo. “I agree! She was beautiful! Er, I mean, she was ok.”

At this point my Apple Music playlist and the obits are difficult to tell apart.

While in college myself and a couple other guys were discussing how attractive Raquel was. One of the others opined that she was OK, but had fat elbows (his very words). I couldn’t have told you she had elbows for crying out loud.

Groucho’s death was overshadowed by the death of Elvis three days earlier, on August 16, 1977. Best joke I remember at the time was the Pope was planning on attending Elvis’ funeral. (Think about the uproar that would have created!)

It’s weird being the same age as old people

Actually, a lot of us were a little piqued that Groucho’s death didn’t get more attention, since Elvis had also just died. In his early 40s, not his 80s.

It bothers me when I see another name from my graduation list shows up on the obituary list.

For those needing help, Raquel is the definition of Woman!

Had a poll, “Are your favorite artists still cool?” One of the answers was not, “Yeah, it’s cool six feet under.”

Groucho died?

First saw her in Bedazzled. Great, classic beauty. Raquel Welsh that is. The film was OK (Peter Cook and Dudley Moore).

And yet somehow Keith Richards lives on….

It just seems that every day, someone I admired dies. I feel very old when that happens.

I was still alive the day the music died. I went home and baked a pie. You can only guess the flavor.

OMG! I used to watch “You Bet Your Life” —live, not reruns!—when I was a kid. I guess I’m not long for this world…

I grieved when Groucho died, but even more when he had the stroke.

Many a, um, pleasant adolescent moment sparked by the memory of her in her wetsuit in Fantastic Voyage……..

And……..Marilyn Monroe didn’t kill herself.

I liked her better in the Magic Christian with Ringo Starr.

I though Raquel Welch was awesome in Hannie Caulder. Think it also starred Ernest Bourgnine and Robert Culp.

Groucho never raised the response Raquel did… but other than that…..

My first love was Raquel, at least to an adolescent who saw 1 Million BC.

She was great in the Musketeer movies. She wasn’t just a bimbo— she really could act! I’m sorry to see that she’s gone.

What ever happened to “die”? I’m so tired of hearing [or reading] that people “passed”/“passed away” and other euphemisms. I think I could handle “went to be with the Lord” better than “passed away.” Mercy, this sure pushed MY button…

…AND that “hellofa band” in Rock and Roll Heaven seems to increase weekly.

Between “1 Million BC” & “Fantastic Voyage” she is memorable for me.

Lifelong friends’ lives weren’t that long…

All of these comments, take me back to the last scene in The Green Mile. “Tom Hanks” speculated that living a long time and watching all your friends and family die, wasn’t such a good thing.

To be sure, Groucho didn’t look nearly as good in a bikini as Raquel did.
