Now they need to cook up a scheme to keep Iggy and OZ, if not in the house, at least close. They managed it for Beatrix. Can they succeed with these two?
Georgia has posted a revised map of the apartment on her Facebook page along with a delightful cartoon of the gang, er, clowder. I hope someone more tech-savvy than I will post the link here. I posted it, but when I tried to use the link it went nowhere.
Puckmosis: It looks like the library at Meowlexandra burned down because of a freak act of nature, not a s’more accident.
Beaver Lee Cleary: It sounds like we’ve cleared up one mystery.
Elvis-Anum: And here it goes on:
Several guilds of Ancient and Accepted Procurers appeared to help move the scrolls to safety. Where they came from we know not, nor do they tell. Still, we were able to move the majority of scrolls. But we know to be wary when things are moved to “A safe place” that is easily forgotten
Beatrixia: Are there any clues on where the Procurers moved the scrolls?
Bev: According to Beaver tradition, they are stored in a pyramid between Egypt and Afar.
Puckmosis: We do know of one such pyramid. Can it be?
I had a friend who fostered elderly Siamese. At one point she had fifteen. Actually she was poor at fostering, since all her cats lived out their days with her. And, no worries, they were well taken care of.
I’d love another little “Tiny Tortie Terror” but we’re going to see how we do with 2 kitties for now. Poody needs the extra attention right now with her bladder infection, and less mess in the litter box may help with that. And, although Roy seems lonely, we don’t know how he would handle another cat. With Peaky gone, there is no one besides my wife to take on any mothering duties a new kitten would bring.Burying Pickle wasn’t a straight forward affair like it was with Chester. Because of the potential toxicity of the chemicals used. I had to dig a 4ft hole, I lined it on the bottom and sides with cut stone slabs seated into the clay. I had to lay on my stomach in the mud to place them, I laid my little buddy into her final rest, facing her son’s grave and south as she liked to when she would sleep on the big stone patio she seemed to think I made just for her sunbaths. Barbara provided a few cat toys and some rose petals and I sealed it up. I placed a 200 pound rock on top to prevent any animas digging. I will carve a stone for them when I am ready to do so. The fear of possibly going through this all over again for Poodle so soon has made me very depressed. When I feel like this, I give myself an earworm of a parody I wrote to make others smile. I want to share it with you.“I’ll adopt 500 cats, and you’ll adopt 500 more
If I be the man who’ll adopt 500 cats, I’ll want 500 more!
Meow meow meow!
Meow meow meow!Repeat as needed until laughter ensuesWarning: do not use while driving or operating heavy machinery!
I like imagining what the people are thinking: “Did I hear that space laser? No, just the cats again. Umm, no, definitely the space laser. What the heck is going on?”
Okay that.. breaks my heart and actually makes a lot of sense. We hadn’t got the them actually being adopted story yet.. because it hasn’t happened yet and Puck’s understandably nervous about it. I dont’ think he has anything to worry about, but it makes his sudden nervousness less about being consderate, which didn’t fit with previous runnings of the cats, and more about not loosing his children.
Pucky is so wise! It’s going to be OK, little guy. The People knew what they were getting into when they brought in a couple of kittens (or agreed to keep them).
The race is postponed until the residency status of two of the contestants is firmly established. Robin’s inevitable opinion notwithstanding, I’m sure it will be. Crazy cat people (the Best people!) won’t have it any other way.
A close friend has taken the compromise of adopting my Irene Begotxu and my Friki Friki if I ever depart before them. One of her children passed away and she went to the shelter for another one. She come back with two inseparable kittens. He had been operated and she was going to. Well now she is the proud .other of four. The older cat, the new couple and my godson. Of course I can still run under a bus or drink too much beer (far mor probably) and she will have six. I have been told that adopting and third cat (I would live it) would be an spectacularly bad idea “WITH CONSEQUENCES”
The only problem I had with being a servant to 6 cats was finding enough time to devote to them. Each has a certain amount of time they want for attention and I better not cut it short.
Aww, a thousand times aww! The li’l kicky feets. Elvis’ big eyes. Everyone wanting to keep the li’l ones. I love it! (I am also suddenly very fond of the word li’l)
I see Georgia is (not surprisingly) a Shirley Jackson fan. One reason Shirley’s cats were all black is so her husband wouldn’t be able to tell how many there were. Hee hee hee.

REO Speedwagon: Can’t Fight This Feeling
I can’t fight this feeling any longer
I just don’t want to see these two kittens go
What started out as fostering has grown stronger
I wish I had a way to let the Humans know.
……
I’d tell them to let the kittens stay forever
I’d say the reasons are very clear
Iggy and Ora Z should be together
Though they run in all directions
They both belong right here!
…….
Even though they wandered
They kept this house in sight
Followed a ghostly beacon
On a dark and windy night
And we all feel closer than we ever thought we might!
…….
I can’t fight this feeling any more
It’s time to bring this ship to store
And sail away no more ever!
I can’t fight this feeling any more!
