if i had a view like that, i wouldn’t mind forgetting. honestly

One cannot explain why they get to where they need to be, but it happens to often to be a fluke

Ha! ’Tuther day I walked into a room and knew exactly why I was there. Ok, it was the bathroom, but still!

Many times.

You did it because it’s there.

Not just places. I can pick up my iPad to look up something and then completely forget what it was I wanted to look up.

You went there to forget the problems in life – see it worked

I forgot what I was going to say….

Why? Because it’s there. Ask any climber.

Here I am. Now what.

Going into a room and forgetting why you went there is not a problem, unless it’s the bathroom.

I believe in the “here after”, there are times when I walk into a room I say “what did I come here after?”

What’s really annoying is when you go back to where you started from, and then remember what you went into the other room for.

There was some research a few years ago that showed that there’s something about going from one room to another that makes the mind forget. My wife thinks that’s bogus and that I’m just losing it.

I’ve named this condition “Destinesia”. While more common in theelderly, it’s easily induced in youth by smoking pot.

Middle aged son told me that when he walks into a room but forgets why he came in, if he backs out the door, he remembers. But, he said, it doesn’t work with 2 doors.

Someone said that works because when you retrace your steps, your mind connects what you see with what you were thinking at the time, and thus you remember.

Don’t know if that is accurate but it works, so I don’t mind.

Ever get distracted by something and so tied up with it that you forget lunch?

How did I get HERE?

All too often, sad to say.

For me it was an awakening. One day in Sunday school I realized I didn’t need to be there. I left the church and never went back!

Reminds me of the red transparent 45 rpm record I played as a kid. Sing along with me now…The bear went over the mountain (x3) to see what he could see. And all that he could see (x2) was the other side of the mountain (x3). Was all that he could see

His confusion could be from hypoxia. Answer is “because it was there”. (Or is that only for Mt. Everest?)

Don’t need a reason to be there. Just sit, breathe deeply, and enjoy the view.

Seems to be happening more frequently as the years go by.

I just bought some memory foam house slippers, no more will I walk into a room and wonder, “Now, why did I come in here for?”

One thing’s for sure, when I have a comment in GC and want to make sure I’m not redundant, I read all the comments. By the time I get to the end I often forget what I was going to say

Oh yes… the top of Half Dome in Yosemite.

I climbed up there once by myself in the early morning (way back in 1956).

I was the only person up there all day.

I ate my lunch in the little cave that is in the overhang at the very tip of the top of the North Face.

I walked down the west side until the slope was so steep that I had to use hand holds in the granite to hang on to while I climbed back up.

I suddenly realized that the sun was setting and I had to get down off of Half Dome quickly.

I managed to do it, but never saw anyone while climbing up the cables, while on top, and while climbing back down the cables.

I often dream of that day.

Surely there are places like that in Heaven?

Same reason I completely forgot if I have read today’s installment or not.
