50s movie queen? Robin Hood on a bad hair day? Even back in 1994, these would have been strange references for a teenager. Besides, I thought 1950s movie queens had pretty nice hair.

Everybody should have similar experiences: challenges to our self-image, things that will fix themselves in a reasonable amount of time (kind of like a broken toe, but without the actual pain). We can’t be children forever.

That hair stylist did a lousy job. She could have at least shown Liz some different ways to style her hair.

That haircut really brings out the odd shape of Liz’ face.

Dawn is right, it will grow out.

It’s been 45 years, I don’t think the “Dorothy Hamil” will ever make a comeback. which sort of only looked good on her. As for the mushroom heads that copied the look, for the most part, didn’t

Butt ugly is not necessarily ugly. I myself have seen some butts that are quite the eye catchers.

She just needs a curling iron. :)

The haircut is the least of her problem, The new style now makes her neck look like ET.

I taught ninth graders for twenty years. Almost all of them were geeky, insecure, awkward, and funny looking.

As for myself in ninth grade – - – I don’t want to talk about it.

Seems it would look better even shorter, with that hair sticking out on the sides lopped off.

It is a hideous cut. BTW, it looks more like Friar Tuck.

I know how this ends but I will say this, if you felt uncomfortable with getting a haircut, don’t give into peer pressure. This was a very clear sign of that.

She did go a bit too short I admit.

I got nothing. All I can say is that she looks okay to me. I suppose that says more about me than it does her.

Put the icing on the cake and die it blue. To make a statement, you haven’t defined yet, or use Halloween as the reason/excuse.

Go back and get a Pixie cut, at least that’s an easy style to take care of. Oooh, maybe a perm?

If she breaks out in acne, it would distract from her butt ugly hair

The length isn’t the problem – it’s just an ugly cut. Immediately get thee to a different cutter, and this time bring a picture of what you want to look like.

There can be a way for Elizabeth to solve this. She finds a voodoo priestess and gives her some cash…

45 MINUTES LATER…

…the voodoo priestess waves goodbye to Elizabeth, who now has long hair and a shrunken head on her shoulders!

Changes bring new issues……..in high school!

As far as the haircut, She freaked out after the actual cut. It seems like she did not let the hair stylist finish.

What I remember in the good old days, if you were a girl with nice long hair, do not listen to your girl friends to cut it. They are all jealous and want you to not look better than them.

My daughter had long hair, which she cut off to donate to Locks of Love. I thought after that she looked like the little girl from Inside Out. However, I never made mention of that as I felt her new look reflected how she was beautiful on the inside.

Third World Problem: International terrorism.

Second World Problem: People standing in line for six hours to buy bread, soap, or toilet paper.

First World Problem: Elizabeth’s new hairdo.

I don’t know why the hair stylist didn’t taper it, like her friend’s hair. Just left it chopped. Except we wouldn’t have had this tale of angst and regret if she had, so….

Elly is so high-strung it will be wait and see how she reacts.

Then again, Elly grew up in the 1950s, which was the most prosperous era in North American history. If she thinks Elizabeth looks like a movie queen from that time, she may be pleased.

Yeah, I know a good many people who are so habitually discontent that they equate “different” with “better.” Different isn’t always better. Sometimes it’s better and sometimes it’s worse. Much worse.

As a kid I didn’t like the way my hair turned out. My family thought it was funny because it looked like I was copying a mean aunt.

Get it styled instead of just cut

You know, it doesn’t look half-bad in the profile view! But I agree, that blunt bob isn’t particularly flattering. The stylist’s own haircut — a short pixie with cut-out ears — would probably look great on Liz.

Then again, that pretty much describes my haircut so I may be biased.

She missed Prince Valiant…

Why did she do it? The same reason she dated Anthony… making poor choices.

I seem to remember Ellie having a similar melt-down about a haircut!!

Hair that length can be tapered toward the neck and look very nice. Just chopped off in a straight line does not.

Be careful what you wish for, it can come true!And the haircut is ugly, and this also happened because you listened to the comments of a person you should never have listened to.
