I guess Calvin slow understanding is proof of his lost marbles.

There is a second one like this in a few days’ time. That will be another example of Calvin not understanding Hobbes’s insult until they are in bed.

I, not having a particularly good day, was in Walmart a number of years ago looking for a particular item in the sporting goods section. A pleasant young woman smiled, greeted me and asked me if she could help me find something. I told her I had lost my marbles and asked if she would help me find them. She again flashed that bright smile, patted me on the shoulder and said, “Sir, I cannot help you find what you never had!”

I lost it, laughing. She then broke into a fit of giggles. Afterwards, whenever we’d see each other, we’d just start laughing. Don’t know where she went after she graduated high school, but I hope she’s well.

Late at night when you realize

I would have picked up on that sooner, but only because my dad is one of the original dedicated jokesters.

He’s a few bricks short of a load.

Many of us are of an age when the darkness begins closing in. Best we greet it with humor, because it comes anyway.

Dawning upon him shortly before dawn.

Took a bit for that one to sink in.

Not only is Calvin not the sharpest knife in the drawer, he is actually a spoon and still looking for the drawer.

Time: Four hours, twenty-seven minutes, 16.8 seconds – just shy of a new world’s record.

I confess to being that slow at times…

Oh, I’ve felt that way when my parents would outsmart me at arguments or whatever.

I love Hobbes’s face in the last panel.

I wish Watterson had done an entire week of these strips with the same punchline. It would have gotten funnier every day.

People like Calvin, are the reason we need “/S” in the comment section.

The Slow Burn is the best.

No matter how many times I’ve seen this one (even have it in one of the compilation books) it always amuses me.

Somewhere all the lost marbles are collected and melted down to be made into new marbles to be lost. They cycle continues

Almost as good as the “you always were good for nothing” punchline, but I still say that one was the best in the whole comic strip.

This one reminds me of Toodles, the old guy from “Peter Pan”/“Hook” who always said he was losing his marbles.
