Not good for Tara and Toni, who actually seemed to want to talk…this is kind of sad, especially since Bets is supposed to be trying to pull back somewhat from social media.

A good response would be: Well, tell me about it. I haven’t seen your blogs for the past hour because I was getting ready to meet you for lunch. I often get the what’s new question. So I go to a newspaper’s website from the small town I grew up in. 1. A man was arrested for battery at local hospital. 2. They are advising people to keep their animals safe in freezing temperatures. 3. Gunshots and assault led to a man’s arrest in a neighboring county. 4. The mayor will talk about road issues and homelessness. 5. New lifesaving equipment that was purchased with donations was used for the first time and saved two lives. 6. A motorcycle thief got arrested. It’s actually more interesting than social media. I just checked mine and learned that the Milky Way doesn’t care if Earth exists or not.

The Magnificent Seven, they are not.

I can remember a time when communication was done using mouths and ears, not just eyes and thumbs!!! Put your phones down!!!

Well, give an “A” for effort to Tara for attempting the get-together. Nice idea, nice thought. Tara is the only one without a device visible. GnK might be commenting here on how impersonal people have become. Modernized version of the “Sound of Silence”. Paul Simon was very astute in assessing that’s how society has evolved.

I thought Toxic Bets was giving up anti-social media. That didn’t last long.

Toni has never had any contact with any of these other characters other than Luann in this comic. Sad when the creators have lost track of their own work.

There’s nothing like a night out on the town with old friends.

Really a weird Sunday page. It’s very nice to see almost all the young women of the strip together. But the fact that Bets posted things sets the scene either in the past or in a future where she has resumed her influencer career (in other words, SPOILER!) but not in the present.Also, it’s another demonstration of what an insufferable killjoy Bernice is. Always ready to make snarky remarks that ruin the general good mood, just for feel the satisfaction of being superior with her sarcasm!? Dunno if they’ll meet again to eat together in the future. But if that happens, probably Bernice won’t be invited.

And the only ones holding phones are Bets and Luann. Everyone else is holding a menu with the Kafe Kablooie logo on it.

Thusly do the Evans wrap their extended critique of social media that has been going on all week. The Bets-Gun split is still upon us, but may be still a bit protracted.

Bernice excels in snarky nastiness. In real life, people would avoid her like the plague. She’ll end up being the HOA whistle blower with 9 cats.

Why would Toni portrayed as being good friends (or friends at all) with her younger sister in law’s friends who, as has been noted, she never has had any contact with? I’ve wondered for years whether Toni had any female friends of her own – we haven’t see her with any since the woman she was with when taking the EMT class that Brad and TJ were in.

Sans Tara, the women talk about how they update their information on the internet, but nobody admits to reading anybody else’s information.

I don’t get this at all. Do random people just get together for lunch. Toni is not in this circle why would she be hanging out with college students? There are a couple of friendships there, but it’s mostly just acquaintances.

At this point…who cares?

It is odd that Toni is sitting next to Tara and Dez. She probably never met them before this lunch. It would make much more sense if she sat next to Luann, or even Bernice. Also odd that Toni is wearing her work uniform. Is Toni coming to lunch after a long work shift? Or going to a long work shift after lunch?

I tell ya, the kids these days, with the computahs and the faceagram! And the rap bands they all listen to! I turn on the radio, I donno WHAT’s goin’ on! Tings was bettah in my day when people didn’t wear helmets all the time and the only people with car phones was the bad guys on a TV show! Take my wife…please!

I was going to say, the smart phone addicted will have a problem in the job market in the real world. However I’m not sure how much longer the real world will matter. That is until Mother Nature decides to remind everyone who really is in charge.

Of course they have something to talk about. They can talk about what they posted. That’s what we all do anyway.

One of the most interesting aspects of todays toon is that all the younger women in the strip are included in one excellent example of toon art telling a story. There are a lot of storylines, but I have to say it fits the bookends; the prevelance of social media, particularly, how it effects Mullennials and Gen Z. It should provide good pushback on those who express such hatred on Bets for being so economicaaly and personally involved with social media. Where do all tboae followers come from anyway?

I swear, Bernice is the biggest Debbie Downer in cartoon history. She has that stick so far up her butt that she’s intolerable.

this is the 2nd time that a sunday strip has some connection to the previous week. Does today’s strip suggest that Betts will eventually go back to posting content on SM?

It’s Sunday and Bets and Dez are back to being the same skin color. Thanks for straightening that out Evans. Now tell the syndicate colorist that does the dailies. This past week was a nightmare of miscoloring.

Typical Bets hate shown here, she gets criticied for her mobile phone/social media updating when everyone else, with tje notable.ezception of Tara, posting,.updating.blogging with their’s, which is the the first place. The.Bernice hate is sjmilarly misplaced, as she is onku stating the obvious

I have no social media accounts and am quite happy. I used to, but I discovered that I really didn’t care for most of the people who were my “friends”. Being an introvert, I enjoy my company and don’t feel the need to plaster social media with mindless BS for the approval of others. I am the sole caregiver for my 91 year old Dad and when the evening comes and he’s in bed, well, that’s MY time.

just like Bernice. Total Kill joy.
