I used to have a pony tail. But it gradually grew farther and farther down the back of my head until it was growing from the base of my skull. That was when I thought, āThis is really pathetic.ā Shaved my head and never looked back.
I actually wore a ponytail in my young adult years. Liked it: Sensual, I though it looked okay even if maybe not handsomeā¦ but eventually the real world in the form of āworking on my own transmission, under the pickup in the drivewayā made me decide to cut it offā¦ along with the big wad of grease. Then during Covid, I thought Iād go ahead and regrow it. Nothinā doing. Old follicles apparently just donāt have the get up and grow that the young ones had.
A few years back I decided to follow through on a desire to be the older balding guy with a pony tail. KInda regret it now and got it cut on Christmas.
When ever I see a band playing on t.v., those men who have long hair and āhead bangingā with it, I always say it must be a requisite to be in said band!
I used to grow my hair longer than I wanted, which was already quite long, so I could donate my hair to be made into wigs for children who have undergone chemo. Some men who wear silly looking ponytails do that, too. I probably provided enough hair for a dozen kids over the years. Natural red hair ā if they were redheads, they were probably happy to get it. I used to generally donate a foot, but six inches is enough for the boys or a short girlās hair. Not all people with long hair are making a fashion statement.
During the crazy years of the fauci-flu, when it was forbidden to get haircuts, my friendās husband, a Col, USAF Ret, grew his hair long enough to donate to āLocks of Loveā. It was very strange to see him with a ponytail.

Earl would have better luck styling his moustache. Let it grow a few more weeks, add some product, and curl the ends into a handlebar.

Pfffft! With your mustache, Earl!
