I just LOVE Pucky’s outfit. Such a Cat Fashionista!

Trust me Ora Zella, tornadoes are best experienced from a distance! Ideally, on TV from another state!

Why am I not surprised that Ora Zella seems to be taunting the rough weather for not being as tough as it could be? Is that all you got?

Their winter outfits are beyond adorable, but Ora Zell’s itty bitty puffy hat looks a lot like a baby tribble.

OT suggested New Year’s Resolution

Love the outfits; looks like they plan a remake of Dr. Zhivago. I am assuming the power must still be out as they are not normally outside going kitties.

I thought Elvis was the weather cat. Where is his snazzy slicker and is there a chickadee front moving in?

It’s not a fit night out for cat nor kitten.

OZ seek the tornado within you.

Of course a little whirlwind, like OZ, would wish for that!

This was the kind of weather that brought them Beatrix.

We had a small sprinkling of snow overnight. Since I don’t care for winter, I was okay with the amount.

“Not tornadoes. Not yet.” The Universe will get you if you call attention to your lack of tornadoes!

My cat knows that the weather radio is important. If an alarm sounds – like for a tornado warning, our cat makes sure we heard it and then stands by the basement door waiting to see if we need to go down.

Since it also sounds for Amber Alerts, weekly testing, and similar non-tornado activity, he knows going to the basement is not always the necessary reaction.

If he thinks we didn’t hear it, he will yell at us until he is satisfied we did.

I think Ora wants a tree to come down, so she can use her chainsaw.

Be glad there aren’t any Ora. Tornadoes are nasty.

Think of the atmosphere as an engine. When you add more energy to an engine, it runs faster and hotter. So what global warming means is not only will the overall climate get warmer, the weather will get more violent.

Earth-sheltered housing is getting more and more attractive.

Is there a coloring error in panel 2? Are those 2 red dots, the one below the microphone and the one below the bobble on his hat, supposed to be Puck’s paws?

Well…there’s no sun, so…can’t say it’s sunny too.

I want to see Ora confronting a tornado. She would win for sure.

I love Georgia’s snowy sky visible outside the window.

Thomios: Thanks for the fish, guys. We’re gonna have quite a banquet tonight. Will you join us?

Fresh: Sure.

Salty: Wouldn’t miss it.

Sue Chef: You may want to stay the night. Looks like a pretty nasty storm.

Ora Z: Look everyone! It’s a tomato storm!

Elvis-Anum: I think you mean a tornado. And they don’t occur around here.

Enter Pink Lupinium

Elvis: What are you doing pink?

Pink Lupinium: I was out in the storm and got covered in tomato sauce!

Ora Z: See what I mean? It’s a tomato!

Ora Zella dear, speaking as someone who used to live in Tornado Alley, I’m telling you: you do not want tornadoes!

Ora Zella is as much tornado as the pink house can cope with.

OT: How I Spent My New Year’s Day

Yesterday I was at my brother and sister in law’s house for the traditional pork and sauerkraut. Since they were away at my niece’s for Christmas, we exchanged gifts as well.

My gift from them was Lucy Worsley’s bestseller on Agatha Christie. My Nephew in Japan sent me merino wool socks. After dinner we had tea and cookies.

A celebration that would have pleased even Elvis!

I’ve mentioned before that in addition to displaying the 2024 BCN Calendar, I’m also recycling the 2018 calendar for January and February. The January drawing has Tommy interviewing chickadees who are ice skating on the frozen bird bath—which in 2023 became the site of the opening volley for World War Mole!

BCN calendar for January: Iggy and Ora Zella are playing tic-tac-toe with orange fish and black mice. It looks like Ora Z won with her orange fish. Their mittens are hung up to dry. Have they been outside (gasp)? Both are drinking from huge white mugs. The thing is, Ora Z’s mug is pretty much covering her face, and when I first saw it, I saw it as a gas mask with googly black eyes which are actually her paws on the mug, and now I can’t unsee it. ;-D

I Love Georgia’s night skies. I was a military brat, so we lived all over. I’ve lived through Lots of Mother Nature. Hurricanes in Virginia, tornadoes in Arkansas, Tsunami in Japan, flooding in Oregon, earthquakes in California and Japan and a volcano eruption from Mt Saint Helens. I feel like I’m doing the trauma Olympics. LOL

Yard kitten update

O. Z. wants it all now. Kittens can be impatient. Not that patient cat is a phrase you’re likely to use in a sentence unless you’re being sarcastic.

I did not know that! Back in the mid 1900’s I had one made of rabbit fur, that I loved.
