Warm and cozy kitties are the best. Whether they be under a blanket, or in their vast, fluffy, mysterious cat cavern, even if that is infact the couch….. Are the cutest, cuddliest friends you can have on a cold and snowy day. Or any day for that matter.
Our kids like to nest between our legs in Hot Dog position (Felis inabunnus). They so love our fluffy throws, blankets, and sheets (yes, Polarfleece sheets).
When we first moved into our current home, we got about 3 ft. of snow. Every winter since then, we’ve had about a couple of feet and then it stopped a few years ago. Nowadays we have a light dusting of snow, if that. It’s been so warm here that the trees started budding in January. It’s supposed to be 60*F next week, too. UGH. I wish it would snow. I miss winter.
Reverting to the corvid theme of a couple of days back, mention of the writer of the famous poem always makes me think of a writer of mystery stories, 平井 太郎, Hirai Tarō, who was a great admirer of Poe. He took the pen name 江戸川 乱歩, which, you will have seen at first glance, is pronounced “Edogawa Ranpo”. Very ingenious.
OT. A very apropos comic for me today. We are only in day three of a four day blizzard. Predictions are for close to four feet by Tuesday morning. However, upwards of 40 mph winds, and the snow being very wet (30 degrees out) have made for huge drifts. The snow has completely covered the three foot tall kitchen window, above the sink! So almost to the roof. The trees are bent from the snow. It’s beautiful, but I fear it will take days to dig us out, and fervently hoping we don’t lose internet or power.
O.T. We have sunshine here today! Maybe it’ll even get warm enough to have a tea break outside later on. Happy kitties, happy me. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!
My niece gave me a stuffed dog for Christmas two years ago. I made a joke complaint that Nutmeg would steal my favorite sweater to sleep in so he got a blanket this Christmas.
My kid who’s the Cat Fosterer came over today, and she has captured the kitten! Little Mina is in the cat carrier, and probably not too happy at the moment. I’m going to miss the little squirt, but Yay! A feral kitten is starting out on the journey to a wonderful safe life!
Yet again, Georgia has accurately predicted the weather; we don’t have snow, but we do have a cold rain drenching the area. Definitely time for fuzzy blankets and hot homemade soup.

I don’t really remember this one, but it looks like it is the first of the two Sunday repeats from when Georgia took time off at Christmas.

Wintertime but inside is cozy. Snow is falling and the drifts are high . . .

Why would Elvis lie about being on the Big Red Couch? He’s usually not a liar. Maybe a lyer.

Elvis, company loves you enough to ignore your grumpiness.

Is Elvis using the I-can’t-see-you-so-you-can’t-see-me tactic? I thought that only worked for the bogeyman?

Elvis, you can run but you can’t hide. Not for long, anyway.

Looks very cozy. Fortunately, Elvis fails this time at being a mysterious lump.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Artisans’ Studio
Maat-Tilda: I’ve developed a new textile technique. See what you think.
Adobe Style: It kind of has the texture of fur, and is soft and warm.
Sophititi: And it’s got a bit of traction to it. Very useful if you’re sleeping at a not completely flat surface.
Tillie: I’ve made a huge blanket. I thought the Royal Courtiers could try it out at naptime.
Sometime Later
Puckmosis: This material is very warm and comfy. But all of the sudden a lump mysteriously appeared in the middle of it.
Elvis-Anum: I, too have found a mysterious lump. I will swat it to send it a message.
Puck: I just got swatted by the lump. I am going to bite it in retaliation.
Beatrixia: I don’t think you need to do that, Puck. Just ask the lump to move over. And watch out for the Thwump.
Lupinium: Incoming!
