I have to say: I LOVE how humble and kind Daphne is. I feel had Nate said what he did to any of his past gfs, they would’ve responded with “yeah, I know lol” or “yeah, that was a horrible idea”. But Daphne doesn’t focus on herself nor the compliment. Not even Nate’s failed logic. All that matters right now is that her and Nate are together and happy about it too! Just super sweet and quite unique from his exs idk :)

Hey, first time commenting on here. I’ve been reading Big Nate since I was young and I have been reading the strips online for years now,and I decided to finally create an account and join some discussions. I honestly thought this arc was nerve wrecking. I did not want Nate and Daphne to break up because they are just so perfect together, so I’m glad this ended on a high note. Hope to see more Big Nate coming!

Nate and Daphne are like my first love Tommy and myself when we were in 5th grade. We weren’t popular and definitely not cute but we “loved” each other and loved having each other’s backs and doing things together. We went through high school together then left on different paths. We have kept in touch though and our families got together right after the pandemic opened up. Thanks for this strip. It warms my heart!

Good-they are throwing out the bad advice of the “mean girls” and the “fast eddies”. That is love overpowering everything.

Over the years, she and I are friends, my wife and her husband know about us, but at our age now, most topic is Grandkids and health. I thank my wife who told me many years ago, “Let that hurt and anger go. Live for friendship now, not grudges of many years ago.”
