Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Please just stop telling me you âLovedâ âLikedâ or whatevered the text I just sent you. I wrote the text I do not need to see it again with your mindless and automatic thought attrached. âMildly concerned about your neediness and mental state that has you tell me you loved the thing I just wrote. Seek help. I would love that.â
Iâm thinking Jimmy got the idea for the noose from an old scene of Carroll OâConnor as Archie Bunker on âAll In the Familyâ doing the noose move as Edith told a long story. :-D
Iâm guessing posting the most trivial information is done on Facebook? I dunno, I donât do Facebook, Twitter or any other social media sharing. I think Arlo and I are one of the few who really donât care for over-sharing, and I get weird looks from others when I inform them I donât have a facebook account. From Arloâs gesture, Iâm glad I have chosen not to participate in such things!
Iâm with Arlo on this one, I miss the days before social media. Back then you just got the Christmas newsletter/card that you could chuck in the bin.
Social media is boring and a lot of celebrities got bored of sharing their lives there, thousands of actors, models and singers didnât post on social media for months.
no place for me to use sloop on this one Opps SLOPE, thanks for all the corrections, never had so many replies, didnât know all you had to do was misspell a word
If Jimmy wants to be kind to those that read this strip, he will skip all the moving BS (Iâm going to miss this house, remember all the good times here? etc) and just do a time jump to them already moved. Please be merciful and do that, Jimmy. We already can have a pretty good idea how it all pans out, so please just skip it.
I was on FB for about three weeks. Long enough to connect to bunch of people I knew and realize I had zero interest in their daily routines. I never posted anything either, so I bailed.
Nice! No friends that have lost their minds in the Magat cult! A difficult but prudent thing to do, pruning friends on Facebook. As Teddy Roosevelt once said: âA good many of you are probably acquainted with the old proverb: âSpeak softly and carry a big stick â you will go far.â If a man continually blusters, if he lacks civility, a big stick will not save him from trouble; and neither will speaking softly avail, if back of the softness there does not lie strength, power. In private life there are few beings more obnoxious than the man who is always loudly boasting, and if the boaster is not prepared to back up his words, his position becomes absolutely contemptible. So it is with the nation.â
Now Teddyâs party is âledâ by such a man. His followers are indoctrinated cultists.
I like to see what my friends and relatives are doing. My husband is friends with most of my group so he can read them himself. I only have about 60 âfriendsâ (mostly relatives) and I think at least 3 of them have died in the last 2 years.
GoComics is most of my social media. Husband is online with old friends from high school and college. He keeps pushing me to do the same. Well, he is in contact with our college friends â so why should I bother and I have very few friends from the past. School friends were basically the people who lived on the same block as us â and had nothing in common with them. Only person other than him on FB that I spoke with was when he pushed me to look up my high school boyfriend earlier this year. I found him said hello, married, etc and he did the same â then ran out of things to say and have not posted again or checked my FB page â which is mostly used by husband after he lost his for awhile several years ago due to different meanings of a word mlta (add 3 iâs) which is in the name of our 18th c reenactment unit but was taken to mean something else at the time.
They may be friends, but she is not really sharing what she sees with him. Just telling him what he is missing out on. Either show it to him, forward it to him, or just shut up.

Hey, 40+ years ago youâd have to sit through the slide show. Or home videos. In person.

Why is Arlo mocking other peopleâs lives? His life is much more boring than most people.

Yeah, I have friends, too â and, unless Iâm enjoying it with them, I donât give a good goddam what theyâre having for dinner.
I wouldnât have thought this possible 20 years ago, but anti-social media has lowered our aggregate IQ by probably 100 points.

To add to her naration, yesterday I referred to âmy favorite Harperâ (age 5).
Her little sister (age 3) objected adamantly:
âShe is NOT YOUR favorite Harper. She is MY favorite Harper!!â
âWell, she WOULD be my favorite Harper if she werenât already YOUR favorite Harper.â
She found that acceptable and peace once again reigned.
