    I’m intrigued by the need for an easel with the city names on it instead of a scrap of paper. Oh, yeah, right—he wants the reader to see it and check online for the venues.

    Should have something about the book itself in the cartoon? There are some ads on the webpage, but no idea which might be related to this book tour. Even worse if the comic is appearing in some other context.

    (For whatever it’s worth, I did look at an old children’s story he did (as part of a series) and didn’t find it interesting. Maybe it would have become funny if I’d persisted?)

    Don’t be cruel. I always go to book signing. The bookstore put the author’s books on sale for the event. You buy cheap and, once he dies, you can sell the signed copy and make a nice profit. It doesn’t have to be his book. They’re worth a lot more if you make them sign the wrong book :D

    Went to a Pastis book signing in Denver years ago. He was great. He even signed my XSHYSTR license plate, and drew Rat on it.
