That’s the idea. RELEASE THE TORTIE! Let’s see Talkie Toaster POP off after the Ora Zella treatment. If that fails? Have Iggy attack it with his cuteness. And do that anyway. WE WANT IGGY!
This happened to my cat once, I was toasting something, and he got close to it and it freaked him out when it popped up. He’s gotten used to it though.
One year ago today, our sweet outdoor tabby Cashew passed away (natural causes); I changed my longtime Kwanso daylily avatar to her photo in remembrance when I posted about her crossing OTRB. She was born in our yard at least 16 years ago; at the time, we had seven cats in our house, so hoped friends would adopt her. When that didn’t happen, we provided food/water daily and outside shelter in a protected area near our front door. We were HER people (if either Hubby, or I were outside, she’d be right there, too) and our place was HERS (Cashew seldom left our yard, but if she did, she’d keep the place in sight and only the other neighborhood cats she liked were allowed to visit)! It still feels weird to step outside, or pull up in the driveway and Our Girl not be here to greet us. RIP, Cashew.
We have a new toaster that is definitely, a jerk! Sometimes it gently pops up. or it pops so hard, it sends the toast flying! Once my brother’s cat, Tiger, was waiting for his morning piece of cheese while I made some toast. Suddenly the toaster popped so loud that it scared Tiger, who’s back legs popped up so high that he was propelled into a, back flip!
We had the best toaster ever when I was a kid back in the wayback times. You can occasionally find them in antique stores today (but have the old cord replaced if you want to use one). The heating coils are in the middle in a vertical position with a grate on each side. There is a small space and then slanting doors leaning against the coil portion. You put a piece of bread on one or both doors in the open position, close the door which holds the bread against the coil grate. Watch carefully as it toasts, there is nothing automatic about the operation. When the side of bread against the coils grate is done to your preference, open door, bread slides out toasted side now against the door, close door and toast other side. Voila toast! However, vigilance is required which was part of the fun. If you under-toast, just repeat.
This cartoon Strip, Breaking Cat News, has been rated PTG-13 (Parental Toaster Guidance), suggested. Parents are strongly cautioned that some material may be inappropriate for children under 13 who toast.

Why is the toaster mad? Why does Elvis insist on being right next to it? Why are the People having so much toast? Many questions for our news team to investigate.
I think Puck needs to sit down the the Toaster and do an interview. Maybe it’s tired of only toasting bread. Perhaps it’s longing to toast a bagel or English muffin. Get a little toasting variety in its life.
Toast is yummy. But that’s what they get for being on the counter. I’m pretty sure that’s not allowed. (love the puffed little tail on a certain kitten kicking the toaster.)

Toasters poppin’ off all over
Ding dong the cats are gonna cuss
Toast is a jumpin, cat’s hearts are pumpin’
As they attack that dang toaster with a fuss…

Maybe the woman needs to invest in a toaster oven, although I suppose the “ding” would also startle Elvis.

It is well known that toasters and cats have been rivals since the beginning of time (or at least as far back as I can remember).

There was a toaster known as Talkie Toaster in an episode of the BBC sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf who really was a jerk.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the oPyramid Library
Beatrixia: So how can I help you?
Violet-Ifa: I’m looking for scrolls on how to make gourmet s’mores.
Bea: Let’s look in the 641s. I’m sure there are some there.
Vi: Oh, here’s one, Julia Kitten’s Mastering the Art of Desserts.
Bea: And here’s The Kitten Scout’s Book of Recipes.
Vi: Just the thing. I’d like to show that one to Lupinium for the Happy Healthy Hospital Pyramid kittens.
Bea: But be careful toasting marshmallows with Ora Z around.
Vi: Right. Lupinium and Ora Z. What could go wrong?

They live in an apartment
In the Pink house second floor, close to Block
Elvis walks around lookin’ for the butter
Not imaginin’ he’s in for a shock
Then out flies some bread
That’s all toasted up just like a cinnamon stick
Ora says "I hate that rude trick
I’m a-gonna give this dumb jerk a kick"
She said, "Hey, hey, you, you, don’t pop so dang loud
Hey, hey, you, you, turn off your sound
Hey, hey, you, you, stop buggin’ our crowd
Don’t fling stuff around ‘cause that’s not allowed
You’re too loud, shady"
