Tracy had more trick up his sleeves than you might have expected (although I assume the vest is sleeveless :)). The vest protected Tracy well, even his hat!, although it really did a number on the wall behind him.
what was the point of the entire story?… this arc contains so many fill-in-the-blanks that need explaining and filling in…
how did Ro escape NMV in the first place?
how did Ro make a connect with Aberli?
what was the purpose of the mummy case Ro made a gift of to Diet?
what was the purpose of introducing Blowhorn and his rabble-rousing racist rant against Tracyville Lunarians?…
what was the purpose of introducing the South Pole pyramid in the first Ro story-arc?
if there are any other points I’ve forgotten and missed, but aren’t the above MORE than enough?
the story is just so slapdash and disjointed… this story had possible potential but as usual, it all crashed and burned even before it started and worse than the Hindenberg…
oh, the inhumanity of it all… so many points were introduced and left us all unfulfilled…
Mike’s tank doesn’t even have fumes to run on… like the Jackson Browne song goes, that’s what Mike is running on…
empty…
there are no more good stories to be had from the man…
This sequence makes no sense, all right. Bribery’s ring didn’t create a shield around its wearer. It turned the electric force back on the person trying to use it. Ro-zan should have been leveled and the wall untouched.
Mysty must have been the trials Zapper during development or else Tracy would be using an untested implement, which would make it unpredictable under use.
Okay, improbable as we all find it, Tracy is immune to Ro-zan’s powers. (Which hopefully will convince him that a couple thousand Lunarians can’t overpower several billion humans – some of whom are trained as long range snipers) Tomorrow we see if Ro-zan is immune to Tracy’s right fist.
And shortly thereafter we bury this story and have a few happy days where we imagine the next story will make more sense.
“Based on the tech from Bribery’s ring” butbutbut…..didnt Bribery’s ring create an arcing feedback against the person that it was aimed at? Wouldn’t that then mean that Ro-Ro-Ro-your boat would’ve attacked..HIMSELF?!?!?
Me- lead down the garden path again. Of course Tracy was going to survive. When will the other characters, Mysta, Diet, The Moon Governor, The Moon Police show up? Are they going to sentence Ro-Zan to the equivalent of the “Phantom Zone”, Krypton’s storage place for criminals?
“Yeah, Tony Stark’s pretty much my (insert insulting term here, as I self-censor). Does anything I tell him to do. DON’T make me activate my Thunder Power BVDs! Now watch as I fire my fists like missiles!”
dude, the ring got a huge upgrade. to being on the the finger to being used for the whole body… but nullification seems kind of a downer though. it being bounced back seemed more effective in my book anyways. It’s still cool though. :j
1- ROX-HUDSON: On the Moon Wrestling Circuit, they call me TWO TWENTY!DT: What’s that? The price a desperate chick is willing to pay for your “love services”? To be specific – two dollars and twenty cents!
2- ROX-HUDSON: I GOT IT YOU MORON! HERE! TASTE 220 VOLTS OF DEATH!
3-: …Hey…what happened?
4-DT: NOTHING! Because Ironman gave me his suit prototype from 50 years ago. Well – not the gold belt. That’s an accessory I got from my wife’s closet…
5-: …Now you’re under arrest you sonuvabiche! I got that line from the end of A Few Good Men Now come along peace… Wait. Where’d he go?!?!
Looks like the vest may have put a protective field around the wearer. And I can feel everyone ready to jump me for this, but please realize this is a comic strip, where the tech can go a bit wibbly-wobbly.
Loving this story line with the Lunarians. As an avid science fiction fan, I like the variety of the Dick Tracy plotlines. Here’s an idea: for punishment, why don’t they just ‘castrate’ Ro-Zan of his horns? No horns, no ability to zap and no ability to communicate as effectively with the other Lunarians. It’d make sense.
Wait, all these comments and no one brought up the awesome Daffy Duck vs Marvin the Martian cartoon where Daffy has a disintegration pistol pulled on him, asks to go put on his disintegration-proof vest, and then promptly gets disintegrated with only the vest left. That was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this ridiculous comic.
I’m going to guess that the Superman poses in the last two panels are a hidden fan boy nod to Superman – dictated by Mike.
So, it seems we have a climax here with a lot of loose ends. To note: loose ends and plot holes are two different things. Not much in the way of egregious plot holes here. There is some great opportunity to wrap up those loose ends, but I’m doubtful we’ll get the answers we hope for.

See Ro-Zan slink in shadow. Darkness is his friend
Made a deal. Tech plans to steal. Must keep up his end.
Needs aid with the invasion. Corrupt helpers do their part
Complacency with tyranny. Unethical. Not smart.
Yet all foul plans may come undone. Look to see detection
Detective Tracy on the job with powerful protection.
Ro-Zan tosses lightening! A vest provides reflection
Look to see tech modified upon closer inspection.
Tracy has the upper hand. There shall be no dictator
Ro-Zan can tell it to the Judge. Reside in prison later.

Makes no sense. Based on the burnt wall behind him, Tracy’s face and hands should have been toasted. So silly.

Tracy’s “Superman” pose in the last panel is reminiscent of the 1940s Fleischer Studios productions:
