Hot take on angst

Looks just like the one who took a free ride on Calvin’s sled yesterday. I guess Susie is also a “genius”.

It builds character before it melts.

Like those pictures Buddhist monks make in the sand, then they get swept away!

Sure looks like grief and suffering to me. Terminal grief and suffering.

The poor snowman is certainly suffering in the last frame. Total meltdown.

Diagnosis: entropy

That ain’t art! Calvin needs to attach the carrot with duct tape. Then it’s art!

One of my biggest comic strip pet peeves is depictions of melting snowmen. They don’t get squishy and slumpy like ice cream while the field around them remains covered. The snow around them is the first to go, with the snowman lingering for days afterwards, slowly shrinking from the outside in as the meltwater refreezes or evaporates.

Calvin is absolutely right. Good art works in many ways.

At least he has snow at all! I’m in Sydney, and there’s never a single drop!

yes, portrays the hysteria being expressed by the lunatics who seened out of sorts even before they were soundly given a wedgie.

All of us end up like the snowman, Calvin.

Art was much better when it was the artwork that was important. Most of today’s “artists” are just celebrities with a hobby.

This reminds me of the commercial where this guy gets a full sized wax sculpture of himself. He then, talks about it outside in the hot sun….

A vocabulary like this and can’t subtract 7 from 11. LOL

The guy who got millions for a banana duct taped to a wall may have been one of the those future generations so inspired by Calvin’s art.

No one can argue that his body of work is prodigious!

Those future generations had better hurry up to get their inspiration.

’Fraid not, Calvin – sun says no.

Think he had a “melt down”!!!!!

And reality sinks in (and then drips away).

Maybe Calvin should consider the Antarctic as a permanent site for his snowmen.

Genius didn’t think about solar radiation.

Put some duct tape on that carrot, might sell for a few million…

Or not.

I’m inspired. I’m cool. I’m extracted. Same gene pool. whoop whoop whoop whoop – anybody got some duct tape so I can stick a banana on the wall?

The Mona Freeza!

3 days ago we had accumulated 32" of snow over 3 days and now it is +3 and raining and we have maybe 6" of packed mush. We might get more. Last year we had green until Dec. 20th then we got enough to claim a whiter Christmas. We have more snow now than we had all last year.

Anicca – all things must pass, melt, sublimate or be hit by a careening toboggan.

That expresses truth about the human condition all right.

He gets more and more tortured as the day drags on

The snowman is NOT melting because of the Sun, but because of all of Calvin’s hot air!!

I guess it’s a Liberty Mutual Snowman ! ;-)

It really doesn’t look different from any other snowman.

If Calvin could duct tape the snowman to a canvas, he would make millions.

Gravity and heat death…even more inescapable than “regular” death and taxes…

Sublimation is much more elegant than melting.

If you drank deeply from the cup of life, you’d notice impermanence.

Calvin as a tortured artist? Nah. Maybe he’s a budding Michelangelo or a Donatello.

He only had a sip of the cup of experience though.

Breaking the 4th wall barrier, this comic strip has indeed endured and inspired future generations… and keep getting the laughs too

it’s a statement about the impermance of art.

Or… not.

That’s definitely a tortured countenance if I’ve ever seen one.

The artist is deeply drunk and passed out on Life for now…

LOL… Man and his works are very temporary in the scheme of things and the world.

And with that kind of vocabulary, art and philosophy Mrs Wormwood looks down on this kid.

The funny part of it is that the snowman at the end looks more like what Calvin describes than his original construction.
