Just a question… is Valentine’s Day still only when Men get suckered into buy flowers and chocolates and expensive restaurant dinners for the ladies, or has Feminism finally admitted that men have a right to presents on Valentine’s Day too?
From Lynn’s Comments: CKAT really was our local country radio station and I got a call from the station manager to thank me for the nod. I was told they would play any country song I could think of. I asked for, “You Done Stomped on My Heart.” Yes, that classic and classy tune came from none other than the wonderful John Denver. Another reason he was one of my faves.
I not only miss ’Valentine’s Day’ but our anniversary, and her birthday—-and have for 9 years !! ! ! ! She was the reason that I looked forward to ‘special days’ and our love ! ! !
Figured from the second panel it was a country station.
Used to live close to the Canadian border and could ounly get a Canadian radio station clearly. Thankfully they played 50’s and 60’s rock-n-roll Always gave the temperature in degrees ‘C’ so I learned to convert in my head to degrees ‘F’.
My husband missed our first Valentine after we got married. I was really hurt but he had been working alot of OT, so I forgave him. BUT when he missed our second ( cause you know I was expecting sopmething really nice since he missed the first one) – Let’s just say Vesuvius had nothing on me. Since then for the past 30 years – our friends have messaged my hubby to remind him of Valentine’s day.
YES!!! Guilty as charged!I made a deal with my wife when we first started to date exclusively to ourselves.I will probably forget anniversaries and romantic holidays, future childrens birthdays, but not hers for we are 3 days apart. I will bring flowers and small gifts unannounced and and in intervals out of the blue and with abundant frequency. She is happy being surprised like that. I try to gauge her moods and if she is down or feeling sad, that is when I do this. It has been a tradition that has endured for over 35 years to this day.

Notice the CKAT. C stands for Canada.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday. Would there be a strip about that if a Canadian team was playing? Or if Celine Dion was in the haf-time show??

Well at least he paid attention to his daughter. Though he missed all of the other obvious clues. Now make sure you get Elly a nice gift, John.

I’m not sure they are from a real song, but I Love the song lyrics from the radio :0)

Typical genre myopic, anti-country music hippie perspective in the second panel.

They put all that stuff out on December 26, so he started filtering it all out over all those weeks of being bombarded with it too soon.

Whatever you may get for your Honey, it should not have a motor. This, I now know.
Unless it’s a Genesis G90 in Savile Silver.
Duly noted.

This has been one of my favorites since I saw it on its first run — yep, many many moons ago. I’m very glad to see it again. Thanks for the laugh.
