Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Tell her to take them down if she wants them down so much. You go change the baby and clean the kitchen and do the laundry and …. just take down the lights.
There are quite a few houses with Valentine’s decorations filling the yard. St. Patrick next then Easter, 4th of July…..and on and on. They are dedicated to the merchants.
Oh Wanda, take a chill pill. There is still a lazy @$$ed homeowner in the addition next to ours that has his 20 foot tall halloween skeleton up in his front yard. For Christmas he put a Santa hat on it. Now THAT is one lazy S.O.B.
Wanda, think about this, it’s cheaper and less time consuming to keep the lights up, and best of all, the lights make the neighborhood more inviting and delivery drivers will have an easier time finding your home.
Had a neighbor like that: all the lights for the winter holidays, red for Valentine’s, green for Irish day, orange for Halloween and I do forget what they did for the fourth.
What’s wrong with leaving them up all year? They don’t have to be turned on until the holidays and wouldn’t have to be put up and taken down each year.
During covid one person left a comment on the nextdoor message site that they felt it should be a law that people should keep their christmas lights on all year long… lol!
I have a neighbor whose home features festive lights for any and all occasions—red and green for Christmas, red, white and blue for any patriotic holiday, orange for Halloween, etc. It’s fun and it’s cheerful.
Since LED lights became available, my parents just left theirs up year round. They’d turn them on whenever one of us kids would come visit. It was a nice welcome.
In Scandinavia, they typically only put up white Christmas lights but they purposely leave them up until March (or so) to help against the fact that it is so dark for so long every day.

Difficult to let go of the lights defining holiday season, Darryl. We all feel that way.
iggyman about 1 month ago
Good idea Darryl, and just leave the green ones lit for St. Patricks Day next month, and the red, white and blue ones for the Fourth of July!

They are CHRISTMAS lights.

I hang all of the Christmas lights on the inside of the windows. Easier to put up and take down. SAFER too.

It’s not a holiday. Last time I checked, no one got the day off work on Feb 14.

Either they’re really tall or the eaves of that roof are really low.

Time to turn to led-decorations, ie not possible to disconnect, but gives lower energy costs, and longer life span.

My friend leaves hers up year around! He could unscrew all but the red…but it’d be easier to take them down.

The garages where I live are on an alley and face each other and the one across mine leaves his on all year. Btw, No Darryl, that would be more work.

When I used to put up lights, they’d go up after T-day and stay up until the Spring Equinox.I no longer bother.
