I can’t help but be reminded of the ‘Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey’ quips featured on SNL back in the late 80s early 90s, but also published in a book of the same name.

Put a lid on it. Stack some other boxes on top of it. Never look in it again.

When I was a young lad, “breaking the fourth wall gags” were a rare and amusing event. Nowadays, mundane.
