Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
ROTFL! I love how Ora Zella, who wasn’t even involved, trashes the hall closet… just because! And flood insurance! Great way to start a 23-hour day!
Meanwhile, Nana is remembering all the times the woman and the intruder and their childhood cats caused chaos for her and thinking, what goes around, comes around!
Not nearly as extreme, but it seems like all the cats I’ve ever lived with have wanted attention at the most inconvenient moments. Zelda likes asking for pets while I’ll eating!
Yep, that’s my cat, Cassidy! When ever I make a phone call, he is suddenly at my feet and begging for attention! Then when I ignore him, he stands in the middle of the room, and loudly complains!
Re the Mega-Orb: I found more beautiful words from Shaunnmunn in the comments for 2017/12/06, talking about how each of our orbs is sheltered and lifted up by many other little orbs. I hope you can take time to go and read the whole thread. It’s gold.
In this thread, Georgia says: “We are very lucky to have such a positive community here, and I can’t ever say enough how grateful and proud I am to have people as warm, kind, and clever as all of you reading this comic. I don’t know how I got so fortunate, but the kindness I see here in these threads is something very special and it humbles me every time. These stories bring us all here (not only to my comic, but to other comics as well!) and the fact that we can all look up and look around and check in on each other and find friendships across so many miles is a marvelous, miraculous, modern gift. I grumble and gripe about computers and technology a lot, but we live in an amazing time for friendship when we use these spaces to care about one another.”
Haven’t been washed away yet, but I lost electricity for 24 hours. One would almost think the universe was punishing me for glo.. er … sending encouraging messages while you were going through the freeze.
I swear it’s a female thing. I nanny and the kids would SWARM the door while I was in there, and their mother, but not their dad?!
I used to get them busy to sneak into the bathroom. If the two youngest found me, they would push pencils, paper, and the occasional book for me under the door. Giggling the entire time.
The eldest (six at the time) would bounce a ball on the connecting wall until I came out.
I’m an ER charge nurse and no one will need anything until I have a phone to my ear and I turn around and there’s 4 people standing there needing to ask me something. Never fails!
Oh come now, a phone call? Shouldn’t she be trying to use the bathroom without interruption. That seems to be the most common complaint about not having any uninterrupted time.
My mom would have loved this particular cartoon. I remember her saying almost the exact same thing when we were little and she was trying to make a call. Certain things are ubiquitous to all Mothers.
Since there are Cat Lovers here, I Have to share the railroad locomotive painted in the same colors as Tama (her name means “jewel” in Japanese). Tama was the Station Cat in a country I understand as (rightfully) Cat Loving. Look for Cats who Rule the World, and/or Episode 4 Japan Cats. Tama. Tama has now crossed the RB, and her daughter, Nitama, isn’t nearly as friendly, but I Had to share her, and her story – also the locomotive with Cat Ears!
It never fails….everyone would be off doing their own thing and hadn’t said a word to me all day, but as soon as I’d get a phone call I was the most popular in demand person on the block! For the record, even though my kiddos are grown and experiencing this for themselves with their own families, my husband has continued the tradition and waits until I’m on the phone to suddenly need my attention to answer questions.
I don’t see the housemate on Wednesdays until my regularly scheduled meeting (every Wednesday 7-8 PM). During that time the housemate passes by a minimum of 3 time. Once it was 6.
Believing that the comment history will not be retained, I recommend that you save your fav comments.
I saved a copy of the poignant poem shared by Esmeralda Anistasia on January 16, 2022, not long after IRL Lupin passed. Reading it, I can’t help but feel choked up as I think of cats I have loved.
Hate DST! Got me so screwed up, my dinner won’t be ready until 9 PM which is about my bedtime! I get up at 5 AM to be on time for my job, make my lunch, shower and shave etc. This sucks! (Sorry Orbsters, but I had to vent.)

It takes Lupin getting his head stuck in a box to get the Woman off the phone.

At least her mom understands the struggle. I like the Girl’s little boat, although Lupin in a box highlights this one.

Woman, you’re a mother. You should know that any “quiet moment” is merely illusionary. Just ask your mother!

Inspired by @emiesty2’s lovely description of our Orb yesterday.
There comes a time
When we heed a comic’s call
When the Orb must comment together as one
There are cats reporting
Oh, and it’s time we showed our love to BCN
The greatest gift of all
These cats go on
Broadcasting day by day
And we all hope that never will change
We are all a part of Georgia’s great big family
And the truth, you know, love is all we need
We are the Orb
We love these kittens
We know that Georgia makes a brighter day, so let’s start reading
There’s a choice we’re making
To help each other’s lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day, just you and me
We send out our hearts
Show each other that we care
And our smiles bring joy each time we SQUEEE
As Georgia shows us by drawing with such love
And so we all must lend a helping hand
We are the Orb
We love these kittens
We know that Georgia makes a brighter day, so let’s start reading
There’s a choice we’re making
To help each other’s lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day, just you and me
When you’re down and out, and there seems no hope at all
Reach out to the Orb, there’s no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well let us realize
Oh, that a change can only come
When we stand together as one (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
We are the Orb
We love these kittens
We know that Georgia makes a brighter day, so let’s start reading
There’s a choice we’re making
To help each other’s lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day, just you and me
We are the Orb
We love these kittens
We know that Georgia makes a brighter day, so let’s start reading
There’s a choice we’re making
To help each other’s lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day, just you and me

Yup, every single time I called my friends with children, EVERYONE had to talk to her. The moment she’s off the phone, everyone disappears.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Thomios: I’m planning a super Sunday dinner for after Services today.
Beatrixia: After a lovely week of donuts and charcuterie, that’s a tall order.
Thomios: I’ve heard Trevor-Hotep has had a lovely harvest of winter vegetables.
Puckmosis: And I wonder what fish Iggy and the Water Cat Brothers will be bringing.
Sometime Later
Iggy: Hey, guys! We caught Perfect Perch and Tasty Tilapia!
Thomios: Excellent! We can serve it with fried potatoes, a peck of pickled peppers, and salad.
Sue Chef: And for dessert, ice cream from the Kat Kiosk.
Iggy: How do we get ice cream in this climate?
Four Voices: We’ll never tell!
