I really dislike this storyline. It’s not funny but sad. A college girl and a grown man can’t take care of the house ? You mean till now Nancy was doing all the work ? LeAnn is an adult and her mum still serves her like a maid ? And Frank in all those years of marriage never helped out? And they worry they won’t manage ? Manage what ? It’s not like she left them with a baby to take care of. Doesn’t show Luann in a good light.
Luann is definitely her father’s daughter. Both don’t like to do anything around the house but lounge around. Now both have to do things themselves now that Nancy is away at work. But I know Nancy will continue to do housework when she is home but cooking? That’s on the two laziest DeGroots.
BTW, I cleaned out the entire refrigerator section of our 28 cu. ft. refrigerator/freezer two weekends ago. All the biological experiments and such went in the trash. Cleaned all the glass shelves, all three crispers, and door shelves. Even took the back panel/LED lighting lenses out and checked the evaporator fan. Maybe next week, I’ll get to the freezer. I am afraid…
it’s funny i just said like 10 seconds ago on the last page how i was thinking more about Luann cooking dinner, but to add here well to not make dinner. i mean Geez there’s nothing wrong with left overs if there are any of hell just put in a tv dinner if ya know how to work a microwave that is
Easy dinner when nobody wants to cook: Throw a can of hominy and beans together in a pot. Throw in some frozen onions and bell pepper. Throw in a can of spiced tomato chunks. The only real work is chopping in or grating some cheese for the B-12.
Yikes! Have you two ever heard of TV dinners? Sure, they’re loaded with sodium and generally are BAD for you. But the “Hungry Man” brand makes a decent meal when taken in moderation.
Heh. Not unlike the current state of TV News. Maybe the late, great “Howard Beale” had it right. “Turn them off!”
The famous quote “not me” is familiar to “someone” and “nobody” riddles. Luann should take full responsibility for her dog’s health.Household chores requires a shared responsibility, between Frank & Luann. Nancy bought the grocery needed for Dinner and the grocery will go to waste if they decide to order a separate “pizza”. Is this a game of challenge between two stubborn characters, Frank & Luann or an opportunity to seize dominance in the household of Degroots?I predicate that Frank will make dinner and Luann will do the housecleaning to avoid disappointing Nancy.
So are we going to get to see Nancy at work at all? Or is that all going to happen off-panel until she comes home at the end of the week, declares that being a bartender is too hard, and returns to being a housewife?
So this will be a “father-daughter quality time” week? It looks funny. But I wonder how Nancy’s doing at The Fuse. Or maybe she’ll be the focus of tomorrow?
They will adjust. I will not get into a dump on Luann, or disparage Frank deal, but I learned how to cook out of necessity when I lived on my own while working and going to night law school, and that came in handy later when my wife and I were both lawyers, busy, with two small kids. Speaking of kids we taught them to cook as soon as they old enough to do it safely, and it has served them well. House cleaning? Well needs work.
Order pizza and call it dinner tonight, tomorrow start learning to cook I recommend taking to Nancy about easy to make meals. Also get a slow cooker, or crock pot it will make life easier when all three are to busy to cook.
Isn’t this arc ignoring the real problem of what seems to be some profound financial issues at the home? I guess arguing about who gets to boil pasta is easier then a discussion about how to pay for college when they apparently need to rent a room to stay financially afloat.
It looks like GnK are taking the easy way out via the “inept family member(s) left to their own devices” tired old trope. I wonder how long this will run?
And! How long it will take for them to switch to the “bumbling inept new employee out of their element” tired old trope? Tiffany’s waitress trope ran from about April through August of last year.
We might have a clue as to why Date-Pics Doug walked out on Luann. He probably asked what her favorite recipe is. She told him she doesn’t cook or clean up after herself. He’d heard enough and left.
Cartoons need cartoon meals, not gourmet perfection. Popeye had his spinach, Wimpy his burgers, Dagwood had his monster sandwich, Jeremy, in Zits, a serving bowl of cereal, and Crankshaw always needs the fire department.
