Now we need to predict what will really happen. I am going to guess that Tiffany runs up to Oxford and….takes his phone.

If Ox goes, Tiff will be so relieved to see him that she will forget about her wet hair.

This has turned into a soap opera!!

Oxford is a gentleman.

Tiffany has frriend-zoned Gunther, Les an even Oxford in the past. The last males she has exhibited an interest in, of her own volition, were Kip and Jack.

Piro doesn’t count, IMHO, since she was trying to attract him away from Bernice so Gunther could move in as her boyfriend.

Perhaps there will be a spark between Tiffany and Ox.

Poor, Ox, he thinks he’s going to rescue a damsels in distress but really, he’s unexpected;y knocking on the door of a hysterical woman with wet hair. He’s going get such a pounding from that candlestick of hers.

It could end up being quite an evening. There are a number of things they can do to stay warm in the dark with no electricity. Heck, even if one has a gas furnace, it will not distribute heat without the electric motor driven blower. And, for the sharpies out there, I doubt a nice mansion like that is equipped with those old wall – mount “panel ray” natural gas heaters. You know those things that were about 20" wide and about 5 feet tall that would heat the back of your jeans to where they burned your legs?

Gird your loins, Ox, adventure beckons. “I am I, Don Quixote, the Lord of La Mancha, my destiny calls and I go……”

I need a refresher. Looks like Ox “has feelings” for Tiffany. Was that always so?

Oxford needs to roll back his expectations, otherwise he going to be disappointed. Tiffany might be panicking, she has not changed.

Ah, I called it yesterday. SO, does Ox have the hots for Tiffany? Looks like it. And seems that TJ notices it also.

I predicted that today would be the day one of the two Fuse characters would go “rescue” Tiffany. TJ’s permission and comment raised the nicely drawn knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress in panel two. I think it just means Ox is that kind of an old-fashioned gentleman, drawn romantically, not that he has romantic interest in Tiffany, but in Luannverse anything is possible.

It’s been my observation that men can be somewhat predisposed to be the “knight in shining armor“, or the “rescuer“, if you will. The thing is though, women don’t generally want to be rescued. Others may disagree, but that’s just my view of it.

Here is Pittsburgh (where it was supposed to be snowing, but isn’t right now), we just had an hour power outage for no particular reason. I’m now living in a ‘retirement residence’ with lots of folks who use wheelchairs and so on, so a building without power can be dangerous for at 5 am. We had a 4-day power outage after an ice storm, the second week of November 2020. Sure wish we had an Ox to come to our rescue…

Ox may encounter a degree of Mess with Tiffany that he isn’t prepared for.

Power is restored before he arrives. Ox is a nice guy, but he looks better in the dark. As the saying goes, he has a good face for radio.

Har har har it’s funny because Ox is not intelligent enough to realize that Tiffany is not really in any danger/is a big whiner! Har har har!

Sigh … after all these years of waiting, Ox has finally decided to try a romantic approach with Tiffany ♡. He wants to bring her the light ♡♡♡. Dunno how Tiffany will react, but I’m happy♡.

Disappointment awaits him. He doesn’t meet her esthetic requirements.

This arc is becoming too close to real life. My power went out the first minute I started teaching a high school class yesterday and it took me twenty minutes to download an app on my phone to reconnect to our streaming platform (not Zoom) I had to teach by phone, going for drives in between classes to keep the phone charged. Then when I decided to order takeout rather than cook on a single burner Coleman, the power came back one minute after ordering!

Some people take things much too literally.

Awhile back there was some moment where I suspected a future Ox, Tiffany match. They had some kind of personality connection. Still, not likely without Ox getting a good paying job at the very least.

Forsooth, methinks this does not bode well…

Every guy secretly longs to be a knight in shining armor. This persona really suits Ox. I hope he can help Tiffany out.

Maybe Tiff and Ox’s offspring will have a few more functioning brain cells than their parents…

I’m thinking that a Tiffany and Ox arc is about to begin; something more than just flirtatious. Greg seems to have an affinity for putting Tiffany and Ox to be in situations where friendship and caring are displayed. Ox sees Tiffany as beautiful and a nice person. She appears comfortable with him yet doesn’t display any romantic feelings — so far.

Well, this is a pleasant and promising upturn of events:

1. It is not Les going to help Tiffany.

2. Ox has a bit of a noble intent in his mind as he travels to Tiffany’s home.

3. Tiffany has not been negative about Ox in the past, so that is not likely going to be the case now.

So, the bigger, long range question… is this a set-up for Greg to get Tiffany and Ox romantically entangled?….

1. I think this could very possibly be the plan.

2. I am not really sure if Tiffany and Ox becoming an “item” is a good thing or not…. but I can say it is IMO far more likely to be favorable than a Tiffany and Les romance. :)

3. Will there be a “comedic” interlude first where Tiffany mistakenly thinks Ox may be a burgular or some such thing…. and some sort of crazy antics (ala “I Love Lucy” or “The Three Stooges”) come into play?

In my own “pipe dream” of sorts, I think it would be fun and interesting if we were to learn more about Ox’s background and history…. flesh him out more as a character… especially if this arc is a harbinger of his becoming more of a regularly featured character.

Tiffany might scream, “You saw me with wet hair and no makeup!”

This is sweet. Ox is being a friend to Tiffany. He cares about her, but not necessarily in a romantic way. Those feelings could develop, but today he is concerned about her.

Oh, by the way. The power’s out, so the doorbell won’t work. And she’s likely to PANIC at a door knock.

So:

1) Make sure Tiffany clearly Hears your familiar, soothing, friendly voice, thru the closed door.

2) If she’s skeptical it’s you, remind her of the time she gave you a manicure, before “I was just following orders” Bernice, shut her business down. Only you and Tiffany would KNOW that.

3) In the highly likely event that Tiffany over reacts, be prepared to DUCK hurled objects. Just in case.

And if by some MIRACLE this develops into something. Even a close friendship, be advised that you’re likely to regain your “enemy status” with a certain dishwasher.

So be optimistic.

But prepared. ;)

PS: Bets and Delta are estranged cousins. No proof. Just thought it would be sneaky way to connive Delta briefly back in the Strip.

When some folks mentioned this combo of Tiff and Ox, I couldn’t see how GnK could do it, but this is cute. Hope he’s not disappointed or getting his hopes up too high. Chivalry isn’t dead, just dormant? ;-)

Been reading past Ox strips. Thanks Tyge. Seems he got a platinum card from his parents, was concerned about a voting referendum and could do math quickly. Hope he continues to be featured. Interesting character!

Just dumb that Tiffany would be that freaked out over it being dark. No hair dryer, sure, but otherwise? nah….

I’m assuming Tiffany has a car, but even if not, why didn’t she just leave her house and go to either an area that still has power or find some people she knows to have some company while it’s still dark? That’s what I used to do during power outages.

And why not? I kind of like the idea of him being, as Peter And Gordon would have said, a Knight In Rusty Armour.
