Over the past 200 years more than 700 proposals have been introduced in Congress to reform or eliminate the Electoral College. There have been more proposals for Constitutional amendments on changing the Electoral College than on any other subject.

Dear America, we are a few countries who have scouted the future for you and found that it is bright and sunny. So it is time to leave the 18’th century and joins us here in the 21’st with ONE citizen – ONE vote. It works, just count them and find out who got the most.

The entire US voting system is outdated. It all needs an overhaul.

The problem is that the side that would be hurt the most by getting rid of the electoral college, is always able to maintain enough power to make sure it won’t go away.

It doesn’t matter anyway.. Democracy just left America last night. We will no longer be voting so it’s a moot point. So.. can someone please tell me what, exactly, the allure is about Trump? Is it that everyone who supports him is just as racist as he is, and Trump just speaks the quiet parts out loud for everyone else? I guess I didn’t realize there was so much mental illness here in the US.

Checking CNN this morning, Trump has won both the popular vote and the Electoral College.

The best thing for this country was for Harris to win the presidency and the Democrats to take the House and Senate. The second best thing happened.

Now the Repuglicans have to govern, something they are not interested in and never have been good at. Americans will now get a taste of their dystopian view of government with a reduced Social Security, gutted Medicare and Medicaid, growing income inequality, no unions and back alley abortions.

Teddy Roosevelt said American learn only from catastrophe, not experience. We will see if we are smart enough to learn even from that.

So sorry, but I cannot find it in myself to be witty today. I fear we’re about to find out just how bad it can get. And, despite have control of everything, when it all goes wrong, they will still insist it’s the Democrats fault. Certainly not Trump’s fault, he’s perfect, just ask him s/.

Apparently someone does not have the intellect to understand the compromises that led to the Electoral College. This is a republic, not a democracy. In the early days, if one was called a ‘democrat’, it was considered an insult.
