Such a cozy scene! ♡〜٩( ˃́▿˂̀ )۶〜♡ The toe beans are plentiful! I can hear the sounds of contented purring as the cats snoozily light-bathe. ❤ Love all the smiles! Elvis is the very picture of cat loaf contentment.
Aw, they are so peaceful. The last time I saw anyone so happy and content is Opus in the final frame of Breathed’s Opus (Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Opus):
Beautiful watercolor painting of the lights, their glow, and how they tint where they touch. The tree lights, that classic shape and the pretty colors, is my favorite memory of Christmas.
This is indeed lovely and peaceful, but I hope those lights are on a timer and will turn off in a bit. Not a good idea to leave inside lights on overnight with no one paying attention to them, especially if they are the large old incandescent bulbs….fire hazard.
This morning, I am sitting in Connecticut, looking forward to seeing my son Macgregor perform in his last Nutcracker Performances at Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory* in Torrington. My thoughts are, of course, with my family and looking forward to his performance (tickets at the Warner Theater still available – I really recommend it if you are nearby).
However, I find my thoughts are on a little white cat 2900+ miles away who is going to the particular vet appointment today.
Good luck, vibes, purrs, hugs, and thoughts Lupin & family.
Coffee. Ravenous boss fed, watered, eye gooped, & skritched, now stretched out in her favorite warm spot, snoring. Gloomy & rainy outside, but the birdies don’t mind, lots of little juncos out there. Bach on the radio. Life is good. Wishing all my fellow Orbsters a good day…
Best light bathes are under a real tree. Laying there with the lights blinking on and off, the smell of fir or spruce filling your nose (or whatever your prefered Christmas tree is) as you admire the ornaments from below.
I’d like to ask the Mega-Orb to send “bon voyage” to one of my oldest friends who is leaving for the next world. He’s a cat lover too who once found a giant chocolate Maine Raccoon at the door, adopted him and called him Cocoa. He and I have been through a lot together. Writer, artist, gamer/designer, composer, worldbuilder, conlanger and dear old friend, Steve G., farewell.
I have a picture of Maverick taking such a bath under our tree after we put it up during his first Christmas with us. Ember spent a lot of time climbing it during her first Christmas but has settled down. I am hopeful that Mickey will not need to be crated 24/7 to protect the tree next Christmas.

Meatloaf, Sphinx, toebeans, jammies and Buzzy Mouse! All that’s missing are the robber mice.

Now there’s a panel to print or clip from the newspaper and put on the fridge, if not frame for the wall.

Hymn for Lupin
I burn a candle through the night
I burn it sure, I burn it bright
I pray that Lupin turns out right
Our healing purrs will bring the light
This Life shall always be a fight
The Biggest Spoon will hold you tight
Keep fighting Lupin, you’ll be alright

Best outcome at the doctor today, brave little Lupin ❤️
“Life is unpredictable,
It changes with the seasons,
Even your coldest winter
Happens for the best of reasons,
And though it feels eternal,
Like all you’ll ever do is freeze,
I promise spring is coming,
And with it, brand new leaves”

I have reservations against People going to bed with the Christmas lights switched on. But we wouldn’t have this scene, if they did not.

O Holy Night
Bathed in the light the cats are sweetly sleeping
It is the time to forget the day’s cares
Visions of ham and bacon they are dreaming
And if it snows they are unaware
A time of peace and joy they are having
The 2 am running is for another morn!
Enjoy your snooze!
Ignore the world outside!
O night divine!
As Cat watches over you!
O night divine!
O night, o night divine!
