Bea is definitely going up in the world as a cat reporter, easily climbing the corpurrate ladder. Soon she’ll be the top cat in the business. Heck, she could even be an expert prognosticator right there at the weathered bureau…
Pirate kitty looks thin and sad and worried. Tortie kitty is taking no chances and fleeing! Bea, of course, is on the job as both friend and investigative reporter.
Iggy has two tail poof styles so far. A few days ago just the tail tip poofed. Today the tail poofs below the tail kink. Will it ever poof both parts at once?
She is of course referring to the Legendary Puck, who does not compete.
Now i’m getting to see his characterization I like Iggy more as he seems to be a tad naive, not knowing that houses may have more rooms or that someone else may be living there. Then again since like his real life counterpart he was presumably found by the shelter jammed in a closet with a bunch of his brothers and sisters, I can’t blame him for not knowing much. It’s also how he lost the eye as he turned out to have an infection and needed it removed, hence him also needing antibiotics.
Iggy’s tail poof is quite something! Given the two cats’ reaction, it seems Beatrix is coming on a little strong, especially bringing up ghosts after he so recently asked if she was one. With the other cats locked in the bedroom, I think it is up to the People (in lieu of a suddenly-appearing Baba, who is likely unable to play her role of tempering Bea’s kitten enthusiasm) to fix this.
in the past few years….just around our house, we have trapped 34 cats and kittens…got all of them fixed, tested, and first round of shots…found 29 of them forever homes…( when someone would agree to take one i gave them a $20 bill, one case of fancy feast and one bag of fancy feast dry…and a ‘Money Back Guarantee’ no question return policy…if they didn’t work out i would take them back…) five of them were to feral for homes…so those five ( now four…lost one to a car accident)…live in our back yard… under a sheltered space… get two wet and dry food meals a day…and each have their own doghouse…i mean Cat House…with a heating pad and insulation for the winter… yes locally i am known as the crazy kat guy……and yes..we also have four indoor feline family members too
How is Beatrix completely missing the scampering cat in the background? Does she have the second-worst hearing in the building? :)
I’ve seen a lot of cat-hunting while walking with my cats in the woods. They never get so focused they neglect their environment. Those cats died out long ago.
I just noticed the round window and I noticed in the last panel that the celling looks like boards and not finished. Are they up in the second attic area? Not the one that Puck was in when he was stuck in the trunk but the one on the other side of the house over the closed off addition.
Yes, but she’s the fastest competition climber. Puck doesn’t compete, he climbs for the joy of climbing. Especially in his little laederhosen and climbing rope

Pay attention Bea! There’s scampering going on behind you! Always maintain situational awareness in potentially dangerous situations! (Doesn’t hurt in the potentially non-dangerous ones, either!)

Nothing like a rapidly approaching big grin and an announcement of “I know dead people! :D” to evoke a Big Lean and Tail Puff Combo!

I love the classic cat pose there in the last panel, “I’m not scared . . . but, I’m just kinda gonna l e e a a n back this way.”

Iggy seems to think “Yikes!” When informed that Bea knows’ em all, living and dead. I’d think “Yikes !” too, given that info!

If that’s the only part of the house the little kitty boy has seen, no wonder he thought nobody lives there.

I just noticed how thin the little kitty’s forearms appear to be. That little one needs a good meal, a warm bed, and medications.

Bea is impressing the new cat already. She climbs like Monroe.
He really climbs everything and everyone. He and Bea would get on just fine.

The best climber, of course, being Puck.
I love how Beatrix just keeps on smiling. :D

I wonder if once she has befriended the new cats if Bea will introduce them too all the cats living and dead that call the BPH home?
