Let’s see… how is this going to work out… I’m still pretty sure Quill’s not double-timing. He wouldn’t so openly talk about Pru to Luann if he were.

Since Greg has been building this up for so long, it will turn out that Luann has nothing to worry about.

Greg, you sure know how to lead people on don’t you? I agree that in the end it will not be a problem for Luann. A guy can have a female friend he enjoys, but that does not mean the one he loves needs to worry. Although jealousy makes that so hard to do in reality. But I still think it will work out.

I have always found it interesting that Quill never showed Luann any photos from NYC and with Pru…I guess we need the drama of the storyline. (still hoping for a NY drag queen).

Greg wants us all to think that nothing is happening and Lu is misunderstanding what she is hearing. I think she is going to burst in and actually find them in a “compromising position”.

8I think it would be very good if Luann did enter the scene and find [bland] Quill and Pru in a compromising position… that way she can dump him and perhaps move on!But, I think this will only be in the end that Quill and Pru are “just friends” and the worst that will happen is that there will be the APPEARANCE of a compromising position…. and that in the end it will be revealed that Quill and Pru were in that “position” as part of something relevant for their acting.

Luann is going to find out some thoughts she didn’t know Quill had. Kind of like the old trick of putting a tape recorder under the seat and leaving to find out what someone thinks of you. I’ve never done that, but I have given it a thought.

When a girl says “Tee hee hee!” around someone else’s boyfriend, it is not good.

…quill & pru probably know she’s there, and are just trying to drive her crazy…

Quill and Pru’s Fun probably has something to do with acting, like improv.

Please let it be Aaron Hill doing some sort of Bruce Jenner thing.

It is not clear who is saying the last 3 comments, including the Hee Hee Hee.

This is set at the the warehouse/Fuse. They would not fool around where anyone could walk in on them.

For sure that Pru is completely harmless what with that lead in.

And how much further is Greg going to stretch the introduction. If he has Luann enter the room tomorrow only to discover that Pru has stepped into the bathroom I will scream!

OK, the tease is extended by toying with Luann’s expectations, which is better than just putting off the reveal…

…But I’m pretty much getting tired of it anyway.

Uh Oh….. not what I was thinking….Now I have a feeling this arc (going forward) is going to be about Quill and a test of his integrity as a human being. Is he going to string Luann along (in terms of their relationship) instead of being honest with her? He gave her that boomerang pendant and said what it meant. Did he really mean that? Or should he not have made a promise that he might not be able to keep?.

That or some other totally unexpected surprise that will make the jealous Luann feel both relieved and foolish.

It almost seems that while Quill has told Luann about Pru, he hasn’t said anything to Pru about Luann.

In sitcoms, they would be laughing over a nice surprise gift they made together for Luann.*If this is real life, Lu is about to experience her first case of dumper/dumpee.*If this is a reprise of Karen’s interrupted courtship with her high-school boyfriend, who knows?

I’m tired of this already. You really are dragging this out too long.

There’s more here than meets the eye…

Tomorrow Luann will step around that wall and you will see the expression on her face, but you still won’t see Pru.

I hope, hope, hope that Pru is super-voluptuous and super- vampy. I hope that [bland] Quill is super-smitten and super-surreptitiously intimate with her. I would really like to see a clean “Quill break”…. basically have him written off the comic… much like the Aaron Hill “dumped-in-the-volcano” arc several people have alluded to here over the years (BTW, if they are in the archives, if anyone would be able to post that actual comic with the volcano, I would like to see it.) Luann as a character deserves a more interesting and entertaining boyfriend.

OH now now its only a cartoon however a good one at that

Tomorrow Luann will go inside the room and see that Quill is talking to a marionette, whom he believes to be a real person named “Prudence”. The men in white coats will come to take Quill away, and one of them will be a handsome young guy whom Luann will fall for. All problems resolved!

Luann flees the scene, crying.Quill! emerges from the next room carrying a ventriloquist’s dummy that says: “did you hear something?”

getting as bad as “Mary Worth”, just keep stringing things out makes for very boring strips, hopefully tomorrow we meet Pru

So, is Pru the Giggling NUN?

The last time Greg milked the strip for anticipation, somebody got exiled to Hawaii when he didn’t get his way.

Ok, I’ll tell you what I think…

I think this story arc is…I don’t know…a little…

Pru is going to be Quill’s ventriloquist’s dummy.

Of course, all of this will be perfectly innocent, and whoever Prudence is, she/he/it will be no immediate threat to Luann.

But if this were real literature, these goings-on would spell long-term trouble for Luann.

Back howevermany years ago, Quill and Luann had fun clowning around and smooching. But Quill is growing professionally and meeting interesting, creative people who are dedicated to what they’re doing. Meanwhile, Luann has become more unfocused and intert, and has nothing to offer Quill except adolescent clinginess and willingness to make out. (Apart from the occasional flash of inexplicable talent that comes and goes in a panel or two, and that she seems not to care about.)

A well-developed character in Quill’s shoes would move on from this clilngy adolescent. Even if he didn’t find a new, grown-up, girlfrend right away, he would have less and less time for this kid from his younger days.

The creators of a comic strip can take the story in any direction they want to, and someday the characters in Lunniverse might start to mature beyond their high school selves. But the way the story arcs have been going lately, Quill’s character is likely to stay frozen for years to come.

I figured it out. Aaron Hill dumped the Asian girlfriend after realizing he was too pretty to be a boy, then underwent the entire gender change and became a girl named Prudence. Quill never met Aaron so he doesn’t know any of the backstory and he never mentioned Luann by name to Pru when they were in NYC so Aaron/Pru doesn’t know she’s about to see the girl who was so obsessed with her when she was a he.

It makes about as much sense as anything else Karen and Greg throw at us …

I believe mini-Elvis may be collecting some lava also.

Says, why are you trying to turn this into a “transgenders are predators” story? I wouldn’t expect anyone to know that this is transgender awareness month, but this is too far anyway. And besides, given the author here, Its more likely a mislead. We’re going to find out he’s actually talking about making plays with her.

Is Götterdämmerung about to commence?

On Monday I asked if Luann would get out of the car by Friday, I should have said “Does she actually walk in and see Pru by Friday”. If someone walks out of the door and asks why Luann is just standing there and not coming in, I will give up on this strip.
