At the point, Leslie should call Tiffany and apologize for Gunther’s behavior and ask if they could spend some time together without Gunther being anywhere near. Most likely he will just yell at Gunther and call him a moron and an idiot a few more times. I would be happy with either outcome.
If Gunther had gotten over himself instead of getting mad at Les and Tiffany, the date would have gone better. But he got mad at Les because of his arrogant, conniving and selfish attitude. And he got mad at Tiffany for making two dates on the same night in close proximity with each other.
I’m Kinda PROUD of Gunther here. He didn’t wuss out and he told the truth. And He’s standing up to the Punk without fear.
And Gunther? After a bit of extensive dental work and major reconstructive facial surgery, when Le$ gets through POUNDING You, You’ll will be READY for your next “love interest!”
Yeah, Yeah I know. A Lot of people are going to take Le$’ side here. But Le$ hadn’t been bragging, then Gunther would have nothing to “report.” And each could have enjoyed their allotted time with Tiffany. But Gunther didn’t LIE about what Le$ said. As Far as I’m concerned, He was just protecting his friend, Tiffany.
Gunther? A Tip: Next time, Don’t bring your next gal pal to one of your mom’s dinners and expose her to Le$ Knox like you did last year. That what started this whole “Train Wreck.”
Oh, no, Gunther. Man up and hold yourself accountable for your actions. YOU let Les heckle and shake you that you got too rattled for Tiffany’s date. YOU were the one who spilled out what happened in that bathroom. YOU were the one who said she should cancel her date with Les. YOU were the one who drove her away. Les did not do anything but rattle YOU. Clever little bugger but he knows his strategy. He is his mother’s son…BUT your actions were unexpected and backfired on Les. He did not anticipate that Tiffany would leave. I suppose he visualized Tiffany being so bored to tears that she’d be so grateful to him when he came out for their date. Two lessons learned: For Gunther, you don’t tell anyone what to do, no matter how sincere or caring you were being. For Les, heckling and rattling someone could backfire on him – that human behavior is unpredictable.
Three possible outcomes: 1. The boys have words, loud words; 2. The boys duke it out mano a mano; 3. FOOD FIGHT! Al or Mama (or both) will show up at the door next. Mama will scold the naughty boys. Al will quietly come up with some solution…maybe involving mops and pails…
From grammar school, “fight, fight!!” I hope they don’t get into blows over this; its not because of the relationships they both thought they have with Tiffany, but because of the inability to see how silly it is for them to fight over her, when the hostility is really over how they look at themselves. Gunther cannot get over himself to really see someone else from that person’s perspective, and Les, he seems to have this need to prove to himself that he is worthy. Both missing something. Tiffany, for now at least, you did the wise thing.
Gee, who’d have thought that Gunther would fail to learn anything from this? Bonus points for him not even understanding (or simply refusing to admit) why Tiffany left in the first place, and putting all the blame on Les. Why is he supposedly the good guy here, again?
I doubt Les was really going to pounce, he was just yanking Gunther’s chain. Come on, most of us have know a dude like Les who talks big but rarely is getting any action at all.
No, Gunth, she left because you were being rude to her. She had no obligation to sit there and suffer through your little pity party, which was bordering on verbal abuse. Grow up.
Wow… okay, we know Les is a sleaze-bag. Kinda expected more from Gunther, though. But just goes to show you – one can be intelligent, yet not be very smart.Watch Tiffany end up with ol’ Jack. Now wouldn’t THAT be a coup? And Gunther and Les can date each other. Oops… too much for “Luanniverse?”
Tiffany doesn’t need a new guy in her life right now, what she needs is to figure out whether she wants to try to fight her way back into her daddy’s good graces (by ignoring what Ann Awful does, no doubt), or if she’s going to decide to just go on with her life, quit school (she only went to please her father), and go off to Hollywood for that career she wanted…
“…You also got chocolate in my peanut butter, you nincompoops! You’re all fired! …Oh, wait. Mmm. …yeah, this isn’t half bad. Okay, only half of you are fired!”
This whole episode really drives home just how sadistic Mr. Gray is for making these guys live together when it was clear to everyone that they completely despise one another. Remember that he didn’t exactly run the plan by anyone before he brought in the construction crew.
Tif was there originally to work some plan involving them both. So, she left without what she came for. At this point, no body got what they wanted (No sex double meaning intended.)
Hmm. its doesn’t occur to these two that it was their actions that caused the problem right? gunther being overly protective of tiff and Less being, well less than a friend.
Life in the gulag going forward will be intolerable. Who moves out first to save this arc? Life with Tiffany for Gunther going forward changes as well. Life with Tiffany for Les will be unaffected unless he makes a pass. It’s called Smallville for a reason and Tiffany wants Bigville in her future.
You what the funniest thing today is? Le$’ candle went out! And amid all the Unbridled “Gunther Bashing,” everyone seems to have missed it.
Alright. I think CHEAP had the right idea yesterday. Or at least he was headed in the right direction. Gunther should cut his loses with Tiffany and MOVE on before things get any worse. And by “Cut” I mean END their short “friendship.” Nothing Good can come from Gunther’s continued, toxic association with Tiffany. It’s already destroying him from within, now. There was a time back in 2015, a brief moment where they COULD have enjoyed a short, but fun fling together without Le$ Knox in the picture. But that moment has passed, NEVER to return. And in hindsight, it was a MISTAKE for him to ever get involved with her in the first place.
Gunther should grab Le$, get in the car and go over to Tiffany’s dorm and apologize to both Le$ and Tiffany in person. And He should very politely END his “friendship” with her once and for all. Hell, He may have already done so already a couple of days ago. But make it “Official,” NOW, and in front of Le$. Tiffany has said she can handle bad boys and herself. Fine. Gunther you need no longer be concerned about her well being.
Then call a Uber and head back to Gulag and make plans to Move-The-Hell-Out. And if that means dropping out of school for a semester and getting a job to be able to afford an apartment, then so be it.
I’d have some respect for Gunth if he hadn’t been such a gutless wimp way back when he deserted his latino girlfriend when she wanted him to go help her with the poor in South America!
Notice that Gunther apparently sat alone in the dark all this time, brooding and letting Les think he still had a date coming up, rather than bang on Les’ door to say that Tiffany just left.
@ MORDOCK and others … when I alluded to a twist in the story last week (or earlier) it was a general reply to all the predictive misses ranging from who would be at the door to how Tiffany would handle two (count ‘em-two!) dates in one night. Some came close, but I don’t recall anyone saying she would walk out on both. And that did take a few days to play out. It’s pretty safe to say that GnK always shoot for the unexpected. They do a good job in hooking readers — that’s good for business. My crows nest perch allows me to see only so far ahead. I’m in the same boat, no pun intended, as everyone else guessing what’s happening in the future. I don’t ask and they don’t tell. But there’s no guessing this: Tea Fanny is the Dark Lord of standing up for selfish behavior in a comic character. Tiffany could burn down an orphanage and Tea Fanny would say, “those kids must have done SOMEthing!”Waiting for the DeWalt outlet to open. Looking for the Tiffany special.
This is really a dumb arc. Understand that G&K do this just for you folks to make comments which helps their ratings. It all starts with the girl making “dates” with two guys, one after another, which is a no-no to begin with. After that, there’s no story to continue. It’s G&K’s fault here.
Don’t we have to deal with enough disgusting human organisms in the course of a day without these two joining in? Hit the road you bums, and close the door behind you.
Gunther is not ready for a relationship with anyone right now. He is jealous, controlling, angry, and defensive, and accepts no responsibility for his own actions. This has held true ever since his relationship with Rosa. He acted that way with his mom, and he is continuing the trend with Tiffany. He needs to learn to trust others to make their own choices. It’s fine to give input about your own opinions and preferences; it is not OK to try to dominate them into doing what you want or fume about it when they don’t.
Neither one of these dummies realize that Tiffany is playing both of them for fools just like Les’s mom Anne…and usually only hookers schedule more than one date a night, eh?
Sheriff Mordecai: OK, this time you’ve gone a bit too far. In the past there was someone here that used to heckle others by taking and using their avatar pictures. Now, somehow, mine has been changed and it jives with your earlier comments:
“Sheriff Mordecai GC INSIDER about 23 hours agoI hereby declare myself the Anti Tea Fanny. That person’s commentary needs to be complemented by Rage Against The Corpulent Hedonistic Egomaniacal Tiffany. Aka operation RATCHET. I’m offering to take an industrial grinder to Tiffany’s face for starters. It’s a comic, it can be done.”
I know you have a deep dislike for Tiffany and want to grind her sweet little face off with an industrial grinder, but using your skills to make that actually happen is a new low. It looks like you made it to the DeWalt store to buy that grinder. I know that you have connections at GoComics, but using them to somehow change my avatar picture goes beyond what my limited powers allow me to have fun in response. This just makes Tiffany even more dear to me. You win. White flag and all that.
Someone asked yesterday about Gunther, but what would you do if you were Les? Not knowing what exactly was said when he asked her for desert, he’s never pretended his intentions towards Tiff were anything other than romantic, and tried to date Tiff twice now. He seems totally OK with competing for Tiff’s attention when she has 2 dates in one night, which does show a certain amount of maturity as he recognizes she isn’t property, and he seems to think the choice to date him is hers to make (albeit he is sweetening the deal a bit:). Gunther has c*ck blocked him both times. Les has also backed off and been a good friend and allie when Tiff needed it.
Also, I do feel really bad for Tiff. She wasn’t comfortable trusting the women when she was down (understandably given her history with Luann & crew) so they got Gunther in on the act. Now that she’s more confident and attractive, she can’t trust the guys either. She’s really in a no win. Might as well have that doughnut.
They’re BOTH being idiots. Tiffany didn’t come for a date. She stated that she came to hang out with two pals. NOT two love interests. Both of these guys are assuming that their perspective was the right one, without even thinking about what Tiffany wanted or what Tiffany thought.
Late in the day, but I know that Luann fans are always looking at the comment section of this strip!
Had many appointments earlier today. Just now getting around to commenting.
Much of what I want to say has been said, but I’d like to add a couple things.
GnK continue to portray Gunther as the enemy of the Luannverse. His statements today are rather misleading, especially when he does not say the real reason Tiffany left.
Honestly, GnK, if you want rid of Gunther, just write him out! Quit trying to make us was look forwarding to his being banished!
Because, overall, these Les vs. Gunther story lines are wearying to the nth degree!
Last, and certainly least, the prediction I wanted to make much earlier today:
This arc ain’t over unless tomorrow we wake up tomorrow at a Police Station or in the Emergency Room!
You guys realize that neither of these were dates right? She told Gunther she just wanted to hang with friends. So she didn’t communicate this to either of them.
It seems there many angry and unhappy characters developing in this strip …. Tiffany, Bernice, Shannon, Ann Eiffel, Les, and now Gunther. There’s enough craziness going on in the country and world in recent months. I’ve been refraining from the Natl news lately…time for a break from Luann.
Tiff was wrong to double-book in the 1st place. Les is just wrong, period. And Gunther is wrong for ruining their dinner. 3 wrongs make a wrong. Enough of this odd couple. I can’t remember the last time a story arc excited me.
Tiffany said in the beginning that this was just dinner and desert with friends. She had no intention of dating either of you two, yet you two turned it into dates and yes, I agree that she should have had two separate nights for the boys.

Attention, all hormonally-frustrated morons and jerks!
Let this be a lesson to you!
Never “double-date” Tiffany Farrell and Sheraton St. Louis in the same evening!

How quaint! The boys are fighting over a woman.

My bottom line: I’d rather see Tiffany in her little clown outfit than these two clowns having a fit.

Tiff has no problem double booking, just call it multi-tasking…… a good quality for a lady of the evening.

The question of interest here is which character to dislike more.
