So! “Romeo Les,” is on a dating site! Excellent! Gunther! here is a Golden Opportunity to put one over on that Snake and Wipe that Smirk Off that Face!

Create a FAKE Profile! Make Her Gorgeous and “Respond” to Mr. Knox! Tell him that “she” is just dying to meet Him! Then sit back and ENJOY Him make a complete FOOL of himself as he brags incessantly about that “Hot Gal,” he’s about to meet. Try to keep a straight face when you do!

Here we go again. It looks like Gunther is almost indignant at the idea Luann would be on a dating site. Like all the girls in the world are supposed to be waiting for Gunther. We don’t know if Les gets girls yet – but Gunther thinks the dating site would be the only reason Les could have better luck. Luann is straining to be kind to her buddy, since Gunther still seems like a brick wall as far as addressing how he might need to change. Just a couple days ago Gunther had a flash of insight that he might be a prude, and that might be a problem. Seems like he got rid of that pesky thought. Now Luann & Gunther can laugh at the postings – with Gunther not realizing how hard it would be for him to look any better in a posting than he does in person.

Could this be the arc in which Gunther posts a profile on an on-line dating site… and meets the marvelous new mystery woman of Mordie’s imagination? And the one in which Luann finally starts taking Gunther seriously, and becomes jealous of said mystery woman?

I wonder how Les describes himself…

Perhaps Gunther will put his own profile up there. Make sure the sewing machine is in the background. And keep that top button buttoned!

Less is way ahead of Gunthy on looking for fun. Gunthy has been too busy going to mass.

Will we now have a full week of Gunther’s whining in self-pity, in which he confuses being a “prude” with being a “gentleman” (two completely separate concepts), in which he doesn’t make a distinction between “protecting” women and “controlling” them, and in which he asserts that he truly respects women (even though he doesn’t, because he regards women as having a misplaced value system on account of their failure to recognize what a wonderful guy he is)? I hope Les gets home early and puts an end to this mope-a-rama.

Way back, when such things still existed, I used to read the personals in the papers just to snicker at them. It seemed like everyone wanted to meet rich supermodels, while stretching the truth ( if not out right lying) about themselves.

Sure Luann, you have Date_Pic on your phone. just to see what guys say their dream date is like, for laughs. And, you don’t take those quizzes in magazines like Cosmo. (It used to be teen magazines, but she’s graduated.)

ABORT!!! ABORT!!! ABORT!!! that’s the last thing Gunther needs right now is more Les. She really is Clueless isn’t she.

To paraphrase George Carlin, Les is a dream date because you have to be asleep to believe him.

Not liking this story line. Being mean and petty is beneath both Gunther and Luann and it usually backfires big time.

These two are soooo getting married, down the line.

Gunther seems put out by the fact Luann is on a dating app ? so she quickly makes up an obvious lie as to why she is on it.

Gunther needs to get over himself, Evans how about giving this guy a spine and stop with the whoa is me whiny bs.

Before I read MD or anyone else, let me say that Luann is on the site to laugh and not find guys? I believe her, she is very attractive, friendly, approachable, and does not seem to have problems attracting guys. I mean, as she is drawn, a certain jock is very interested in her, and a certain edgy new friend (Tara) knows it. Maybe Luann does too, but she is not pushing it, for now. Gunther has, in spite of all the commentary, lots to offer, he is smart and I am sure will be a good earner, he is a gentleman, a man with an encyclopedia of interests, he won’t be boring, his issue is himself. I am not sure a dating site will help that, but at least it would broaden the potential field. Anyway it should be fun seeing what Les puts out about himself, and Gunther’s reaction to it. Wonder, if Gunther put out an honest description of himself would he get interest?

This Luann on a dating site plot contrivance doesn’t work on soooo many levels. Gunther’s reaction is what I think most reader would have. Whaaat? Luannnn? Naw!

The last couple of times Luann interfered in one of the characters lives she gave advice that was good, life improving and not underhanded and snarky. How will making a fool of Les improve Gunth’s home life? How will spying and childishly giggling over a supposed Les dating site move the Gunther character forward? Or his relationship with Luann; whatever that may be?

I can’t believe that G&K threw Luann and Gunther together after such a long hiatus for some childish scheme. If they (G&K) make something worthwhile out of this I will be surprised.

Hmm. I am not sure how to read Luann’s facial expression in the last panel…. embarrassment? …. worry? …. chagrin? …. or something else? Whatever, it makes me think that she sees/knows something about the site or Les’ profile that she has a bit of nervousness about. Perhaps that will be tomorrow.

Even though it may seem for those of us in a “grayer” generation that being on a dating site suggests a level of “desperation”…. as I think it often did for the dating classified ads of old that we may be more familiar with…. I think TODAY, many if not most young people I know (the students in my classes) see being on some sort of dating app as just another avenue to socialize and interact….. and potentially date…. seemingly there is no stigma associated with it from what I hear.

Except, it seems like Gunther has some qualms about being on a dating site. IMO, that may be a rather unique perspective in his age group.

Okay, time to issue a DISCLAIMER here. My initial post today was a JOKE, people! I have absolutely NO idea what the next move is in this story line, nor do I have any “Inside Track” or influence on the Plot. Never Have Never will, TRUST Me.

Gunther and Luann today are NOT plotting to bring down Les by creating a Fake Profile. I suggested that in jest, and “folks” acting as though that’s what’s in the actual Strip, today. Luann is merely about to reveal what she sees to Gunther. Will it be Good or Bad for Him? I Don’t Know.

So, let’s dial it back, order a Fresh Cup Of COFFEE and ENJOY what happens next, shall We?

This is where we find out that Les is gay.

I am thinking that Les wrote a Hey Baby to Luanne on that site, but he didn’t know it was Luanne that he was hitting on.

Since nobody else has guessed this yet, Luann is going to accidentally swipe right and match with Les. Hilarity won’t ensue but they’ll drag it out anyway.

Getting really uncomfortable with Gunther’s character, with his incel-like behavior. I hope he doesn’t go postal or something.

It would be really funny if Les used Gunther’s photo instead of his own in his profile…

At least Les is putting himself out there to find someone. Both Luann and Gunther are pritty much doomed to keep dating there limited friend circle, and neither seems to be much interested. Kinda gotta respect Les. But snarky jerks were really never my thing.

Poor Leslie is in danger of being mocked. Hard on such a sensitive soul seeking other half of destined couple.

If only he or she is out there….

Leslie may get a lot of first dates that way, but if he acts with them the way he did with Luann earlier, he probably doesn’t get second dates.

Does Gunther ever smile?

Gunther is whining about being rejected. When have we seen him actually asking someone for a date? A long time ago, he decided to ask Bernice out, and so he went to her dorm room but she wasn’t there. However, rather than just coming back some other time and asking her out then, he instead basically stalked her for the next couple of months without actually asking her for a date. Les has the right idea – to get dates, he lets it be known that he’s interested in dating. Maybe he gets turned down a lot, but not always. Does Gunther actually ask women out and gets turned down, or is he just waiting for someone to show up and tell him that she is the girlfriend whom he deserves on account of his obvious niceness, so it’s time for them to get married and have those 2.7 children that Mrs. Berger can baby-sit from her granny flat?

Now I imagine Luann and Bernice laughing together reading these profiles. But I wonder. If Gunther is so envious of Les’s dates, why he doesn’t just sign up for that site?

I’m going to venture a guess and assume that it’s free. I can’t imagine either Les or Luann paying for it. What’s really funny is that Luann just happen to pick the right dating site when there are so many of them. Is she holding back something? Hmm…

Maybe this dating app will let us know what happened to Delta, Quill, and mini-Elvis.

Uh oh, they’re about to troll Les. I know it’s Les, but still not cool.

One of the things that I think that Gunther does not get yet is that being able to have first dates does NOT make Les anything close to a success. Success in dating is when another person wants to continue hanging around with you. Then from there you can see where it goes if at that stage in your life you are ready to have it go anywhere.

If Luann’s photo is on that dating site, let’s hope she isn’t wearing this jacket in it.

It would be funny if Gunther joined the site pretending to be a girl just to mess with Les.

That’s not going to happen, but I’d enjoy it.

Leslie’s hot dating profile should indeed make interesting reading for Luann-the-Boyfriendless (Jack? —not really, not yet) and hapless Gunther Momma’s-Boy. But to whose benefit?
