OT: Espresso gets… The Operation …

I just discovered that I cannot post a review of “Take It Away, Tommy!” on Amazon because I do not meet its criteria (i.e., I don’t spend enough there for them to notice me). I suppose that is fair enough. For reasons personal to myself, I swore a year ago to avoid buying anything off of Amazon if I could possibly avoid it. I guess I have been successful!

My copies of TIAT were ordered from Barnes & Noble (as all of my local independent bookstores have shut down). I did have the honor of posting the first TIAT review at B&N!

OT. Yesterday I received a notice from Amazon, that my Take It Away Tommy book would be delayed as they are shipping much needed medical supplies first. Now they say Saturday for arrival. I hope so!! I understand the need to ship the medical supplies, so I won’t complain too loudly… Hope everyone is doing well!

Wow, she is talented. I wish I knew how to make a black cape out of tin foil. Maybe is was just the Ankh (pronounced “onk”) that was made of foil.

well, fellow Orbsters, I failed in my mailman quest. I had everything out on the porch that i would need while I waited to see how my package would arrive. binoculars, camera, something to wet my whistle, a good book to read, a comfy chair……..the only thing i forgot to get was a port-a-potty. i waited as long as i could but….. of course my books were delivered at that one moment of time that i was away from my post. but on the bright side, my books arrived yesterday!!!! I’m so glad no one else was here to see & hear my happy song and dance! then a few minutes later they would have seen me sobbing and wondering if this was a menopausal mood swing or what, but it was Tillie & Freddie. I usually shed a tear or 2 when I re-read it, but this time, the floodgates opened. I had to put the book down and go eat some ice cream.

I’m guessing manager, not ring talent. Working the mic doesn’t seem her style but people do the darndest things when in a character.

I know this wasn’t the intent, because he had not a thing to do with wrestling or rassling—but Sophie’s outfit really makes her resemble a certain very talented and rotund actor’s favored look during his last 15-20 years. I speak, of course, of the great Orson Welles.

OT: what’s goin’ on…

at NY Comic Con a couple of years ago, Georgia had a print for sale with the whole crew in their wrestling costumes & I’ve been waiting and hoping that Sophie would eventually turn up in that costume and she finally has! it’s been quite a strain trying not to say anything to spoil it.

looks like Burt is very interested in what Sophie is doing &/or interested in Sophie herself! Looks like he’s showing off his fabulous furry physique hoping to impress her. they might make a nice couple.

Please, I do know how accomplished and serious Sophie, especially when her creative juices flow!

So forgive me when I read this in the morning: Sophie proclaims “THEATER!”, and the first thought that I had was that of … Jon Lovitz as Master Thespian!!

(Gotta admit, I loved the skit where Jon and John Lithgow teamed up and did that shtick together!! ‘ACTING !!’ Hee-Hee!!) :)

Couple of things: Go the creativity of Sophie and Burt looks fine.

Woman: Did anyone hear the sound of foil tearing?

Tommy and Sophie’s Woman: Oh, it’s just Sophie making a wrestling outfit.

Bea’s Woman: I didn’t know Beatrix could make suits. I guess she found out how to in one of our books.

Sophie’s costume has lots of flair, but I can’t see any pompoms. [Sorry about that but I still get a snicker out of her pompoms for flair.]

I love her costume! Reminds me of Phantom of the Opera meets cozy kitty mystery:)

I was crushed as a 12-year old boy to find out wrestling was theater; I’ve not liked, followed or watched it since. I’m 47.
