Janis, love, you’re already beautiful. It’s a universal law of Nature, male and female, that pulling out your old clothes from yesteryear to see if they still fit, doesn’t make you look younger. All it does is make it more obvious that you’ve gotten older. Plus, it serves to remind you why you stopped wearing those outfits in the first place.

After a couple months of not often changing out of Her nightgown (which, to be clear, I am perfectly OK with), the last few days She has been getting dressed early, fixing Her hair, and putting on make-up & jewelry (I’m OK with that, too………………..)

But I suspect Janis is being too hard on herself; feeling frumpy is one thing; looking frumpy is – as I’m sure Arlo attest – whole ‘nother smoke (or, in Janis’s case, smokeshow).

Since the girls are home from university during this extended holiday, the Mrs and I have been dressing a bit more frumpily. Total bummer. Good on you, Janis, good on you.

Like yesterday, some people see different possibilities. Personally, I think Janis is proud she can still get into clothes she hasn’t worn in a long time and is quite pleased with herself. Otherwise, she would have removed the clothing, skipped the makeup, heavy earrings, and worn the exact same thing she wears every day. She’s pulling it off in style.

I started wearing the older ripped/stained tee shirts that I normally use to sleep in, during the day – why wear out the newer tee shirts faster if I don’t have to and this time of year (freezing) I am sleeping in the long sleeve tee shirts anyway. Have not worn a bra since start of March and don’t intend to even if we do leave the house.

It worked— she definitely doesn’t look “frumpy” to ME now! And to the person above who said “old fat” doesn’t look good— speak for yourself. Janis is hardly very “fat”, anyway…
