I believe this is the moment when Tom Farrell realizes that the negligee he found so attractive on Ann Eiffel is actually an apron.

I did not think I could loathe a fictional, cartoon character the way I loathe and detest Ann Eiffel! I know she’s imaginary; but, JEEZ! Ew! So ready for her to be busted and get her comeuppance!!

Hope Tom finally WAKES up!! She is outright LYING to him

Sweep? Where did that broom come from? I thought I saw a mop in the first panel.

Man! Talk about a missed opportunity! Tiff should say: “I didn’t OFFER to do any such thing! Sweeping the floor is number 5 on this long chore list Ann give me. (hand list to her dad) Apparently I’m the unpaid housekeeper while you’re gone. Thanks dad. So nice to know I’m loved.”

I know that won’t happen, but I wish it would.

Why the Sam Hill is Tiffany playing along?

Today was the day many of us were thinking that she had had enough and was going to leave.

Unless she doesn’t have a dorm room to go back to.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure that Tom does NOT see what’s going on.

I’d like to see this arc end with Tom saying that he wants his little princess to come along to the cabin, so, run along and pack some clothes, Tiffany. And Ann’s head would explode…

Next week may be the part of the story when Daddy sticks up for his Little Princess and kicks Annie to the curb.

As much as I’d like to believe this is a game-changer, I’ve been let down too many times. Ann will say something to distract him and it’ll all be forgotten. But I hope to God I’m wrong.

Tiffany would prefer to sweep the house with Ann, then dispose as hazardous household waste.

You know, when I was little and heard the story of Cinderella, I didn’t get that her father was dead; I thought that he was just too weak to stop his wife from treating his daughter like a servant. Sort of like this storyline!

So, Dad turns around, and…he has the exact same face as Gunther and Momther! Booya!

Ought remember that Tom Farrell is in love with Annie. He will defend Annie if someone trys cast a bad light on her. Tiffany should give the list to Tom Farrell to read. Tom will say " Oh, honey you doesn’t need to do this list, I have a staff "

Well, you have to admit, Ann is quick on her excuses!!

I’m glad to see both women turn down the heat.

“Dad, I’m practically working full time to pay for my college and dorm room as you are having financial difficulties, so as big as this house is, I may not be able to complete everything on the list. Could you look at the list and let me know which things are the most important to you?”

Now, sit back and wait to see what shakes out.

Yeah, not sure exactly how Ann is going to force Tiffany to do chores if she’s miles away for weeks. Tiffany should just clean up after herself and leave the house in reasonable shape, because what is Ann going to do if she doesn’t complete the list? It’s not like Tiffany’s dad is on board.

Okay, so they’ll be gone for weeks. They will return either A) married, B) engaged, C) not engaged, or D) separately, having broken up. Anyone want to place a bet? :-)

Tiff should stand up for herself. It’s not worth staying at the house at the expense of Ann treating her like a servant.

Now the story is about to be afoot—maybe. Tom might actually question why his daughter is in an apron holding a broom in his house. I thought Tiffany’s rather droll comment has promise, I mean her volunteering that she would sweep the floor ought to raise questions for Tom> Did I mention that he is clueless though?

Why is she going along with this..?

This reminds me of Seinfeld where Steinbrenner always is facing away from the camera and we never got to see his face but only heard Larry David’s voice. BTW RIP Jerry Stiller who played Frank on that wonderful show.

Ann should put a bell around Tom’s neck so she would know when he is nearby. Ann never treats Tiffany poorly in front of Tom, but he did hear what she said today.

“What’s This?” It’s the usual line before TSHTF. Greg put that line in because no man likes seeing his adult daughter reduced to domestic help by his live-in-girl friend.

Ha Tiffany has a sense of humor, that she would sweep the floor with Ann who totally deserves it.

Now, either this is the time when Tom will finally understand everything or this will be the confirmation of how blind he’s about his daughter’s problems with the evil Ann. For me, he will be so proud of the fact that his daughter wants to personally take care of the family home ♡….

See this is where Tiff should have offered to be “super honest” and go "Hi dad, Ann was just telling me she laid off all the staff because you were having money problems and was suggesting I cover for housekeeping since “she” is providing me with free room and board in our home.

I’m thinking (hoping against hope actually) that this is the beginning of the end for the “almost fiancé.” Tiffany living at home would be a wonderful story arc to pursue for GnK.

After all, we know that sometime Awful Annie will be outed! (Don’t we?)

I am confused by the way they are writing Tiffany. She swings from being smart and cagey to being stupid and toady. I hope there’s some kind of sense to it and that its not a case of the writers just not remembering their characters basic personality traits.

Is dad actually opening his eyes…for once?

All Tiffany needs to do is show Dad the list of chores in Ann’s handwriting. Only then will she be busted.

Why would she even put the stupid apron on? That just shows acceptance to the whole “maid” thing. This whole arc is going to be stupid.

I notice that Tiffany did not say how she was going to use the broom.

I really want Ann to gets what’s coming to her someday. She shouldn’t be able to get away with as much crap as she does…

“Ann ordered me to do the cleaning and other chores while here and I agreed to obey, especially since she tells me you have been having hard times financially,” might come off even better.

Ann, you need to take the broom with you. If the car breaks down out in the woods, you’ll need it for transportation.

Aside from showing him the list, I would hope that Tiffany has been recording the exchange on her phone to replay to that idiot, PW’d father of hers, so he can see the discrepancies. I don’t know if it’d make a difference, but perhaps it would sew seeds of doubt.

Well, the Dad will congratulate Tiffany for being so thoughtful …. The guy is meant to be clueless in this strip.

I agree with the interpretation that Tiffany’s comment in panel 2 alludes to the idea of her figuratively sweeping the floor with Ann by showing Tom the chore list in Ann’s handwriting. So I’ll go out on a limb and predict that tomorrow Tiffany tries to do just that. But I won’t go out on a limb with a prediction about whether Ann manages to wriggle her way out of the situation.

Several commenters have suggested that Ann lied about having fired the help and that she has merely sent them on vacation while she and Tom are away. I wonder who that “help” would include. A housekeeper? A gardener? A stable boy? If Tiff’s chores are things like dusting and vacuuming once every week or two in the parts of the house she’s using, then Ann can say that she’s teaching Tiff to be a responsible adult, to appreciate what life is like for people who can’t afford hired help, yadda, yadda, yadda. If the chores include things like climbing on the extension ladder to clean the outsides of the upstairs windows, maintaining several acres of lawn (“riding mower being repaired [lie; it’s hidden]—use hedge trimmer”), and/or cleaning the horse stalls every day and spreading the manure on the gardens, then Ann may have a lot more ‘splainin’ to do. But she’s a world class manure spreader herself, so she just might pull it off.

Also, note that Tiffany doesn’t have the chore list in her hand. Possibly Ann could step over to the table, make a few deft motions, and turn around with a stack of dirty dishes in her hands, an innocent-looking smile on her face, and the incriminating sheet of paper hidden somewhere, all before Tom even notices that there was a sheet of paper on the table.

And here we see how dear old Dad buys every word of Ann like it’s gospel.

I have a feeling that Tiff is (wisely) being easy and compliant to get these two out of the house so that she can move forward with whatever plan she might have. And if one exists, hopefully it is constructive (not destructive) .

Just thought of something—-we never get to see Tom’s face, so IF and WHEN he finds out about Ann, we won’t get to see his expression.

Will it be shocked? Horrified? Angry? A smug I-knew-it-all-along smirk?

We will never know. :D :P

Tif seems to act like she can wait out Ann. The problem is Ann has her hooks in and isn’t going anywhere. I wish Tif would grow up and quit hoping to go back to being daddy’s little girl. Women like that end up like Blanche DuBois.

hopefully Tiffany’s dad will see the true person Ann is and beg for Tiffany’s forgiveness for believing and loving Ann more than his own daughter.

Has GK decided how Tiffany’s father looks from the front yet? We know he is blind when it comes to seeing Ann. I wonder if Tiffany will find some kind of incriminating evidence to put into her father’s sock drawer.

OMG, that is not a droll comment in panel 3, that is as sarcastic as can be on the part of Tiffany. Ann says that Tiffany has volunteered to sweep the floor, and Tiffany replies to dad, “I may even use the broom.” This is a pure-de setup. Something is going to happen tomorrow, continuing to next week. Totally missed that I confess.

Is this the story arc that leads to Awful Ann’s undoing?

He may Finally get a Clue, but Awful Annie will deflect.

The fact that she just Lied & dodged the question is a tip off that he Doesn’t know what Awful has been doing to Tiffany.

Ann Eiffel, a gifted Grifter, stepping in a trap devise by Tiffany? Or is it another ploy to disappoint the readers with an inopportune moment for Tiffany?

More on Tiffany living at home being a wonderful and successful story arc to pursue for GnK.

I see a possible arc where Tiffany can continue to advance in her pursuit of entrepreneurship. She could have the assistance of a successful father/mentor while keeping the humbling lessons she learned in the “the school of hard knocks.”

And you know that GnK can make it go there if they chose to do so.

An added advantage would be that they would be able to draw down the hyper drama that was Tiffany v Ann and make more room for Luann!!!

Free room and board? Dorm rooms are normally paid in advance for the entire semester.
