Maybe the pie would have been better.

Luann’s joke is a lame one, but still, Bernice’s “joke” is uncalled for.

“The End” – rather odd way for Greg to end his strip, by having Bernice tell Luann it has reached its end. One would think Luann (since the strip is named for her) would be the one telling the rest of the cast that it is all over.

I’ll go with what Villyehm said above, a pie joke would have been better.

Luann seems extremely immature in today’s toon. I keep saying it would be good for Lu to leave the nest and get out on her own. Maybe Lu & Tara might be good roommates somewhere: Tara provides pizzazz and Lu provides stability.

I don’t think Bernice has liked Luann for a few years now.

Bernice has an uppity air (I’m so much smarter than you) about herself that I’m not sure she really likes anyone very much. And, I don’t HATE Bernice. She’s just nosy and a bossy, needs to be in charge kind of person.

So who thinks Luann will get punished once her parents find out that she gave Tara the key to their business without asking them? Anybody think Tara will get a reward??

Luann always try to bring some humor and fun into Berenice’s overly serious life. This time she even managed to get her to take a break to draw something! Brava Luann♡! And Puddles is so cute♡♡♡.

I laughed. The joke is out of character for Bernice. Being irritated at something silly is in character. Drawing a big old butt in your face is not.

An appeal to the readership to help me find a link to a comic.

A young guy, who is obviously smitten by the barista, is waiting in her line. He is obsessively repeating in his mind something along the lines of “Hey, how are you doing?” so he can be cool when he finally gets to talk to her.

As soon as he gets to speak to her, while she is waiting to take his order, he blurts out “OK now, don’t F$kc! this up” to her astonished face.

Puns are a form of brain exercise. Not everyone can do them and, therefore, not everyone can appreciate them. I always go for the groan or the facepalm.

I think they are both funny reflecting Luann’s silly, but harmless humor and Bern’s more snarky, more pungent variety. The DeGroots are drawn corny humor. Which is all it’s meant to be contrary to some who come to overly drawn conclusions or non-sequiter connections to exisiting arcs. This is a Sunday foible only.

R.I.P. Cliff Simon, actor who played Lord Ba’al on Stargate , from a kite-boarding accident. Did a great villain.

Wow, Bernice is usually better at hiding her unceasing contempt for her supposed best friend.

And here I thought it was Bernice’s way of saying “kiss my ….”.

Ever since Karen took over writing this strip Bernice has taken over as the main character. (Bernice goes to college, Bernice chases Piro, Bernice dreams about Jack’s tight rebus, Bernice follows Luann..) At the same time Karen has turned Bernice from the fun-loving side-kick to Luann into — a grumpy. judgemental old woman. The kind who can’t take five seconds to appreciate a joke from her so-called BFF, but does take five seconds to tell her to butt out. Bernice needs ti follow Delta into exile because she’s no longer funny.

Luann seems (more often than not) to have too much time on her hands.

Hey, I thought Luann’s joke was pretty good! I liked the rebus puzzles when I was a kid.

We can always count on Bern to bring the snark. Does she even like Luann anymore?

Bernice could have paused for a second to look at her friends picture. She is just wound so tight, I don’t think she is going to be a very good psychiatrist. Maybe a career change is in order – law enforcement, the military, or a pro sports referee?

This one is just punderful.
