Uh oh. If last week’s kibble mix-up has been succeeded by a litter mix-up, the house really will be torn apart!

Ah yes, the old litter box victory lap. I’ve had two cats who did that. Also, it sounds like somebody may have gotten into the regular cat-coffee.

Check all closets. And, in the case of a missing cat in our house, we check the kitchen drawers. Blackjack opens them and either sleeps with the pots and pans or kicks all of the clean dishtowels onto the floor, the gets in the back, jumps down behind the next two drawers and comes out from the bottom one where we keep the tin foil, boxes of plastic baggies, etc. He used to be sneaky and do it at night. Now he does it right in front of me!

My friend told me that cats often get the zoomies after using the litter box. I’ve never made a habit out of watching them do their business, so I honestly wouldn’t know. I’m not surprised either way. Little weirdos. :P

Loaner Cat mrowls in triumph, but no zoomies. Not for that. Once in a great while, she’ll get going, but we have wood floors throughout the first floor so she looks more like a cartoon trying to get traction. And OH Puck! That little blush is absolutely adorable!

Pucky Mason and The Case of the Horked Shoes

Bailiff: Do you swear as an Honourable Rodent to tell only the truth?

    Violet: I do.

    Bailiff:Please state your name.

    Violet: Violet Robber Mouse.

    Bailiff: What is your occupation?

Violet: I am a member of the Procurer’s Guild, an ancient and accepted order of mice dedicated to the acquisition of anything we want. I met my friends at university, where we were studying Cheesetaking. We formed the Robber Mice Company after gradation.

Hamlupin Burger: Ms Violet, will you tell us in your own words the events of the day in question?

Violet: Certainly. My friends and I were on assignment and decided to take a shortcut through the Humans’ bedroom. There we saw Elvis. It appeared that something was making him grumpy.

Burger: And how did this differ from his usual appearance?

Violet: Not a whole lot, but he had obviously puffed recently.

Burger: And did you see him go into the bedroom.

    Violet: Yes.

    Burger: Your witness.

Pucky: Now how long were you in the area when you saw Elvis?

Violet: Not more than a few seconds.

Pucky: And did you see him go into the closet?

Violet: No. We were carrying out our assignment.

Pucky: In your line of work your assignments usually involve transporting something. Is that correct?

    Violet: Yes.

Pucky: And what were you transporting for this assignment?

Robber Mice in Unison: We’ll never tell!

    Pucky: No further questions.

Pucky: Goldie, I want you to check on something for me.

We have hardwood floors. The zoomies or in my house we call them the “rips”. They start with the cats doing a “scoby do” running in place without traction. Once they get momentum watch out!

Okay, I’d like to step aside from my whole Puck-cosplay-thing to say that, while I’ve said this before, the BCN community is my favorite by far. Nobody is toxic, and we help each other when we need to. If someone says they are having a bad day, everyone steps in to comfort them, and that is beautiful. I came into this community a long time ago, when there were very few followers, and it has grown in every way I hoped it would. Thank you all for contributing to this place that has become my internet happy place.

OT: Moved into our new home Saturday evening. The cats immediately went into hiding. While it took Pookie Poo a day to start exploring, Mr. Tommy stays under the bed. To make matters worse, our cousin flew in late Monday night to learn to drive the motorhome. (Neither of them do well with other people.) The last time Mr. Tommy ate anything more than a bite was Saturday morning. I hope his hunger finally brings him around.

They start caterwauling around 3:30 in the morning, so my husband and I, on top of all we have to do to unpack and buy what we need, are exhausted.

I could use some good thoughts to help us all through this adjustment period. Thank you!

P.S. Only got the internet yesterday afternoon, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
