These guys are talking about two things; a nasty little thing that nobody really needs or wants to look at, and tonsils.

Tonsillectomies was a scheme devised by the American Medical Association and the Ice Cream lobby!

Then it was tonsillitis. Today it’s pediatric covid. Whatever it takes to gain power and money.

I didn’t get ice cream. Only Jello®

Normal people should petition their local government to adopt similar action against the invasive social media like Florida handles the Burmese python.

Facebook is like snot.

Far as I know it never got on my phone in the first place. But then I seldom use the phone and I did a bare minimum install and then turned off anything that I did not use.

I never had a tonsillectomy, but I grew up in the time when circumcisions were routinely given for nebulous health reasons.

(Let’s see if I can get that word past the censors.)

My phone does not have Facebook on it, I declined the ap. I do read it daily though on my PC!

Way too many of us Boomers had our tonsils removed as doctors prescribed if we had more than one sore throat in a year! And that promise of ice cream was a joke (for me). My brother and I had our tonsils out at the same time and were next to each other in the children’s ward (recovery). HE got ice cream. I did NOT. Why? They told me I had to throw up first. He did. What the FUDGE was THAT about? I did, however, get a puppet from the hospital staff.

But…the ice cream!!!!!

FB has unfriended me 3 times.Years ago, I could only print certain coupons if I shared on FB, so I had 4 accounts. One was close to my name, & friends found it – became my actual account.

One is nothing like my name. It’s the only one left. One by one, FB demanded photo ID. Like I’d give them that even if it matched my FB name!!I’m in some FB groups for couponing and punning. I’d like to keep the couponing contacts, but I guess I can get my pun fixes here ;)

I had my tonsils out at age 5. My only surgery and inpatient hospital stay in my almost 62 years of life. Pray my luck holds out.

Been in Fartbook Jail for 3 weeks now with one to go. Miss it? Hardly, if I wasn’t hearing impaired I’d dump the darn thing.

I hate these people who complain about Facebook yet have an active page on it.

I had a tonsillectomy when I was about 10 or so. I was pretty sickly before and rarely got sick after

I almost bled to death after my tonsillectomy. My mother convinced a nurse to come check me. The nurse walks into the room saying something about it was normal to not feel good after the operation. About then, I vomited up a quart of blood.

While growing up I’d get strep throat at least twice a year. They were removed on my twenty first birthday and I haven’t it since.

Not just FaceBook, it’s social media in general (minus this, of course).

My mother wanted my tonsils out so badly that she asked the doctor what justification he needed. This was about 1961. Many mothers were convinced they needed to come out eventually, so why not now. And I had plenty of ear infections after they were removed.

Something we thought we didnt need.

Same for circumcision – for men.

Just say no! It’s easy!

Not always a trivial procedure either. My cousin died during a tonsillectomy at age 5.

My doctor wanted to remove my tonsils from the time I was about four, because I was constantly getting sore throats and having to stay home from school. My parents wouldn’t have it. When I was 17 and got yet another throat infection I said, “that’s it, I’m having him take them out.” Haven’t had another such infection since.My baby daughter was prone to ear infections. We did the tubes and the whole bit and nothing helped. We finally got her a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy and all her troubles stopped. Turns out her adenoids were so huge they were blocking her eustachian tubes, hence all the infections.It’s not always useless.

When I had my tonsils removed, they told me that I could eat all the ice cream I wanted. I got a bit upset because my throat hurt so bad that I couldn’t swallow very much. It was a scam. :-(

Oh, that’s nothing, guess what they remove now just because someone at the moment thinks a different set may be a better deal.

Eureka ! I just figured out that tonsils are where mathematical abilities are stored ! That’s why I’m so bad at math !……or maybe the appendix……

Hmm-m-m. Now I wonder if there is any study linking tonsillectomies with tinnitus. Neither parent had a tonsillectomy (too poor) and both had tinnitus. I also still have my tonsils and have tinnitus. My older sibling has no tonsils, and doesn’t have tinnitus. Yeah, I know, not much of a sample set.

Born 1947. No tonsils. I don’t remember why. Thank you, modern medicine.

A tonsillectomy worked well for me. I was rather sickly as a small child, and got my tonsils removed at age 7. I have been very healthy ever since, just the occasional seasonal flu and bronchitis, none of it ever all that bad (I’m almost 70 now). My younger brother never had his removed (it was out of fashion by that time, apparently) and he was always troubled, all through school and young adulthood, by all sorts of strep throats, colds, flu (much worse than I ever had), and other infections. Maybe there is a connection, maybe not…

Hmm, my sister and I had tonsillectomies at the same time as children after several years of nasty ear infections and it pretty much worked for us.

Wait, ya mean I went through all that for nothing? There should be a class action lawsuit. Also, I want my tonsils back!

I am a middle-aged man who never had his tonsils removed, and probably never will. I’ll live.

Doctors also thought that tonsils were evolutionary vestiges that were of no use, so if they caused any trouble they would remove them. Just one of several bad ideas and errors generated by evolutionism.

Today they are giving them puberty blockers and gender reassignment surgeries. Those were the good old days

Did you know that many people who got tonsillectomies later developed appendicitis? A connection, perhaps?
