Glad she didn’t come out and ask him if he’d taken it.That would have meant a whole week devoted to that drama. I want to get to the part where Stef looks the fool.
Which I suspect actually IS worth money because I bought it back when they still made them out of gold.
By the time I graduated College, though, those were made from some alloy that looked like recycled Aluminum. So I skipped over buying the College ring because they were Priced as if they were made from Gold and didn’t look like anything I’d want to wear.
Seconded. I also like the bait and switch, or at least what I think is one. It came off in the saturday cliffhanger like Tiff was accusing him.. but she really just went to Les because she needed to vent (possibly we’ll see tommorow) The Evanses also suprised me with how cleverly their using Les, in a way I shoudl’ve thought of but didn’t: His background as a petty thief. Of course he’d know how valuable a class ring was, and as many pointed out here the ring isn’t worth jack. I also like seeing Les like this more: clever and snarky versus a greasy creep who frequently hits on unitrested women and leers at tiff. Not saying the two can’t coexist, but it’s nice to see the guys depths shine through.
I love how Tiffany has no doubts about Les’ innocence and how a good friend Les is. He sees Tiffany worried and asks her if something is wrong and this seems to be a habit between them. I don’t know if Les will be able to help Tiffany, but it’s nice to see them talking. Maybe he will help her find a way to share a space with someone even if she doesn’t like her? After all, he’s an expert at sharing a place with his cousin that he initially hated.
I wouldn’t put much past Les, but I don’t think he took the ring. I also still think that Kip will show up sometime … with his new “side piece” … and she’ll be wearing the ring.
Again, for Les to have stolen the ring, he would have A. had to know that Stef had a boyfriend and I don’t think he even met her before he moved her boxes, B. had to know Kip gave Stef a class ring, C. knew where that ring was and D. been able to fine the box where she’d put it, dig it out and pocket it without anybody seeing him.
It’s MUCH more likely that Stef simply misplaced it.
I think Kip saw it in the Box as they were packing and put it in his pocket. They’ve been separated for the summer while she was at dance camp, perhaps he was planning on breaking up with her and wanted to make sure he got his ring back
Les is actually the sharpest knife in the drawer. He doesn’t have book smarts, but he does have street smarts. He might suggest that Tiffany find another class ring at a pawn shop.
We are carefully being lead to believe Les stole the allegedly missing ring. On 9/9/22 we’re presented with Les being mildly crude to Stef then cryptically shushing Ox about moving a box marked shoes. The VERY NEXT DAY, 9/23, Stef accuses Tiff of being a thief. Next we have a week where (essentially) all of the Quad Radics convince themselves that THEY didn’t take the ring. Now Tiff is grilling Leslie. Why not Oxford? Ox works at the Fuse just like Les. Ox is shown touching more boxes than Les.
So with all fingers pointing at Les because of previous behaviors it probably isn’t him. In fact there are much more interesting avenues for this allegedly missing ring to work out in stories.
If Kip were out of the picture, as some think he is, Ole Leslie just might move right on in. Wouldn’t that make for an interesting couple. How would Tiffany react to that? How would Gunther? What interesting happenings would go on in the Gulag?
But … we still don’t know why Les was Shhhhh-ing Ox over Stef’s box of boots she wanted put in her closet. Is the ring somehow related?Tiff go ask Ox what happened.
A ring in a big cardboard box? Has anyone looked for a hole in the box? Maybe it fell out and is rolling around in the back of the moving truck. Or worst yet, fell out on the pavement in carrying the box inside the dorm.
Tiff is going about it in the right way, not making accusations but seeking information (in a non-threatening way). Les likes Tiff and if he can be made to see that as ‘ceo’ of her own business effort she’s taking responsibility for client dissatisfaction (as any responsible business owner would). If he actually did take the ring he could be made to feel guilty for wrecking his friend’s efforts. After all, she paid him and Ox to do some moving.
Even though clues and cues are left like cookie crumbs leading to Les, to believe he took the ring is to say the benign influence of Luannverse has not changed him. I think it has, and he is slowly healing. Tiffany has a lot to do with that, he helped her with HIS mom, and he has never given her reason to distrust him, even if she knows his past history. I follow the thoughts of many here, that she misplaced Kippness, and will have to apologize to everyone, Will she be humble enough to do it? Will it change her too?
OK like me or hate me, I might not be on for a bit after Thursday as I am having surgery on my left arm. I have a pinched nerve in my elbow messing with my hand, and they need to relieve it. It is ulnar nerve, not the carpal, it affects my ring and littrle finger and most of the outside of my hand. It is same day surgery, but we are taking full anesthesia, a 6-7 inch incision and some down time.

Yea, Les didn’t do it. That wasn’t the reaction of a guilty person.
I’m glad Tiff didn’t accuse him.

I’m still thinking Stef misplaced it and the whole thing is her fault.

Those seem like such awfully suspicious questions he’s asking though, especially about the ring’s value (or lack thereof). Hmm.

Les’ statement in panel three IS rather curious.
There’s a question of whether or not he even graduated from high school.
And even if he did, it’s not likely he got a class ring.
Yet he knows they are “not valuable.”
OTOH, I’ve read where some class rings (Gold) can bring $400 or more.
I still don’t think Les did it.
But I’m afraid he may hatch some hair-brained scheme to help Tiff which will only make matters things worse.

Les didn’t steal the ring, he just temporarily paused it en route, so he could find it and be the hero to Tiffany and Stef.
