Anyone care to speculate on why today’s strip is entirely non-sequitur to any of the still-incomplete story arcs? Yesterday’s could be attributed as an entirely appropriate homage to Charles Shulz, similar to those presented in numerous other strips yesterday. Is Luann contemplating writing some sort of expose` or satire of such advertising?

Lately I see things saying something like, “I look like a 5 at work but when I put on (whatever) people say I am at least a 10!” I have no idea who falls for that clickbait. At least Luann didn’t say “hack.” I hate that word now. I wonder if the people who use it know that the person who tries to perpetrate a scam can be themselves called a hack?

Ah yes, we boomers are so helpless we can barely operate a flip phone…. At 62 I keep up with as many of the latest trends and words so my kids and grandkids seldom get one by me.

If you can only buy it from that source on the internet and not in stores, it’s probably a fraud. If it was that good, it would be marketed retail. And don’t forget to hurry and buy now because supplies are limited (Get it before we get shut down for false advertising)

Wrinkles? I once finished 2nd. in a Chinese Shar-Pei look alike contest. The winner actually bit the judge. Intimidation reigned.

Statistics show marketing works, and companies spend a lot of money on it accordingly. Luann just sucks at it. Only a fool would assume “they” are somehow immune to the barrage of online adverts that define the 21st century. It’s rather like reading one book on poker and assuming that your the loan genius out there who will beat the house in Vegas. You are your brand at this point in time (just ask Bets).

Greg wanted to make a joke about the shopping madness of “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” and how not all old people will fall for those hyped dealers. Frank and Nancy are his designated “Old People” but who to make a ridiculous clickbaity come-on? They have only one daughter and Shannon is too young to know about clickbait so Luann is the chump. Not because she is this kind of person but because Greg wants to make a joke that requires a straightman. IE, Luann is a puppet that says whatever Greg wants her to say even if what she says contradicts every thing he has had her say.

I guess the younger generation is too dumb to know the older generation is smart enough to know better. They’ve seen it all before.
