Sophie gets the win. First for a bit of cheek with the “drama” remark. Then her little styrofoam boat! OMC indeed! They have turned the drama up to 11!

I have endured worse disorganized meetings. Between giggling and nodding my head, the BCN minutes are a delight at lest from my perspective. Elviis no doubt disagees.

While I thoroughly enjoy Georgia’s fabulous artwork, I am finding the meeting notes this week rather entertaining.

For those new to BCN, and in recognition of the discussion about acronyms yesterday, OMC! means “Oh my Cat!” It is the feline equivalent of OMG!

Hold on. I thought GN was a completely separate organisation from CN. What is Tabitha doing at a CN meeting?

Most of the time, faculty meetings are a snooze fest. But one year, on our principal’s 40th birthday, we were entertained by a surprise visit from a stripper gorilla.

This arc continues to be pure gold. Sophie’s addition is gold, while it’s nice to see Tabitha involved again. It seems like Georgia’s making a concentrated Effort to include her more.I also find it great Elvis gets super offended over this… even though he’s not the straw that broke the camel’s back here, nor do I suspect the main problem. The secondary problem sure, but not the main issue.

Who will appear next in the minutes: the robber mice? Trevor? Baba? Or will the meeting end abruptly when the woman or man rudely interrupts? Like another person commented yesterday, I’m still hoping for some Our IX Lives episodes.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Has everyone selected their favorite snacks? Good. Then let’s continue the meeting. Beatrixia?

Beatrixia: I am happy to report The Very Good Pyramid Library is thriving. We are making plans for this year’s Summer Scroll Club.

The Queen: Excellent! Now for the Artisans’ report. I would like to welcome Adobe Style back from Afar.

Adobe Style: Thank you, Your Majesty. Maat-Tilda, Sophititi, Arachna, and I wish to thank the recent exploration for the gift of gold and jewels believed to created by the renowned elf, Fe-Anaro. And now I’d like to give the floor to Iggy Shipwright.

Ora Z: (Running around the floor). The floor belongs to all of us!

Adobe: It’s just an expression. After the meeting Soph has some clay she needs wedging.

Ora Z: I can pound it into submission?

Soph: As much as you wish.

    Ora Z: All right!

The Queen: Iggy, you wish to speak?

Iggy: Yes, Your Majesty. My friends Wally, Iron Glove, and I are working on a gift for my cousin Ziggy Starcross. It was his dream to become a famous guitarist, only to find out no one had invented guitars yet.* We plan to be the inventors.

The Queen: A most worthwhile project. And finally, the Royal Procurers’ report. Ladies?

    The Procurers: We’ll never tell!

As told in the January 1, 2023 Back on the Nile.

I knew the other cats would be involved, and I particularly love Sophie’s role in all this! I’m sure her notes are very theatrical and beautiful to look at. Meanwhile, I am not sure Elvis can be held responsible for the combined nonsense of Ora Zella, Lupin, and Goldie, but he is probably having a dawning realization that this is life now.

Hello all, at 8:56 PM Monday night my family and I put our dog down. He was 15 (People) years old, over the last 2 years he found a way to function but in that he lost his personality barely eating, doesn’t chase squirrels and had a small case of indigo (Dizziness)> I miss that old man so much.

Anyone else seeing this meeting in their head in comic strip watercolor color? It’s kind of scary – I think I spotted Agnes covering the meeting from behind a lamp and Natasha about to swipe some of the “light refreshments” from under the reporters noses…

Today I’m going to ask the orb for healing thoughts and boops for our tiny Ladybug, she’s in a lot of pain and can barely walk with her back legs. At least we were able to get an emergency vet appointment and my wife has her there now. She’s such a delicate and little thing, barely 6.5#, I hope she is okay!

Beatrix’s notes are comprehensive, concise, and an amazing attention to details. Astonishing for such a young kit.

I want to see Sophie’s notes!

    Artistic license and perspective.

Will she be like a court reporter, with sketches of the participants?

Or will she enhance her notes with color and emotion?

Several of my colleagues and I started knitting during meetings. It really made them a lot easier to take. You have an excuse not to make eye contact, it’s calming, and if you look down people can’t see you making faces or rolling your eyes.

@Georgia Dunn I cannot contain how disappointed I am to hear the crew use single-use plastics like stryofoam – one drink then it’s off to the landfill forever, that is, if it doesn’t get blown into a body of water and become part of the plastic that is destroying the ocean & the marine life within. Plastic does not biodegrade, it only becomes smaller pieces of plastic. I have refused a cup of coffee served in a styrofoam cup on several occasions and was not shy about giving my reasons. Those organizations now use paper cups or reusable ones. A large telecom I worked at for 5 years implemented a company-wide ban on single use plastics at all staff functions thanks to me speaking up. Please stand up for our planet. What you do matters.
