You aren’t fooling anyone, Bets. If you were that comfortable you would have said, “mmm hmmm”.

Yup she is not happy, she can’t do normal.

Are we talking about the 1974 series, or the 2004 series. Bets is not in a bad mood, it seems like Gunther is running late.

That’s gonna take some time.

Battlestar Galactica will be long forgotten after Battlestar Bets turns her frustration on Gunther.

I wonder how Bets defines ‘comfy’. Maybe not the way Gunther does…

They seem to be very comfy over on Pibgorn for the last few days. Besides, this affair/relationship has gotten to be like Luann without her Dolly Parton bra………flat. Time to move on.

Just when I thought Bets was starting to improve… the remake series??? NO! 1978 original!!!

I feel like Dez was poking the bear and now Gunther walks into it.

She’s bored. She likes being creative and interacting with other people. The funny thing is, Gunther didn’t ask her to shut down her social media entirely. That was her melodramatic gesture. Now she might be resenting him. Hope we’ll see them talk this out on Monday…

You seem to be more tense than Bets is. Relax.

TRANSLATION OF TODAY’S STRIP:

Gunther – “Honey, I’m Hoooome!”

Bets – “Yeah, It’s about DARN time! Now, it high time you and I had a little talk about ME giving up social media!!”

Quite a difference from the 50+ years since I was in college—but, then, I went to schoolin New England!!

“Comfortable"

Gee, I’m sure she’ll be fun to be around for this ridiculously long sci-fi binge-session. Still, it’s not Dez’s fault Bets was “the lady who doth protest too much.” Bets’ insistence came off as “Must. Convince. Myself. This was. Worth it!” She also kept sounding resigned to making Gunther the primary outlet for self-esteem boosts and affirmation.

Gunther’s also not really awesome at valuing her… He couldn’t muster up the gumption to tell Irma to give Bets a shred of respect for 3 MONTHS. Gunther was also reveling in Bets struggling to connect with her audience when they parted ways. During their break Gunther was noticeably comfortable with the idea of Luann getting extra close with him. They were reminiscing about the old days. He made Lu a flashy Halloween costume. They appeared to be so close at the part everyone thought they were a couple.

Anyone else think that this relationship is past it’s “Best By” date? Or “Bets Bye” date?

Bets’ cyber life is simply not gonna become a permanent lifestyle. It’s on hiatus, vacation, Winter break etc.

Being snarky is not a good start to the evening. Bets is still cooking on Dez’s comments and her not so assurance that she’s good without social media.

Although Bets would have been wealthier, Gunther will make good money as an engineer. If she stays on this track she will have to opportunity to make a nice home (maybe paint a room every two weeks), raise two beautiful curly-headed buck-tooth children (making sure they excel in school and musical studies), run the PTA, start an uprising at the supermarket – lots of exciting possibilities!

Bets is in withdrawal. This will take some time.

I like the Gunther and Betts relationship. Hope it continues…

I hadn’t thought about Battlestar Galactica in years.

Which version is she watching?

Looks like Dez has managed to shake Bets enough to make her wonder if things aren’t quite as perfect as she says they are. I just hope this can evolve into an honest discussion between the two and not an argument. But between the two things, Bets continuing to tells herself that everything is fine and meanwhile harbors discomfort and anger inside continues to be the worse situation. Let’s hope Gunther is able to understand her.

76 one hour (including ad time) episodes in one afternoon? That’s some serious binging. And, I’m surprised it’s not a Star Trek Marathon. 3 years of TOS, 1 year of TAS, x years of TNG, plus DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, all the current shows that are running on Paramount+, and, all the movies. Come to think of all that sounds like a year, plus.

Just go bake some cookies Bets, that will make everything all better and just think of how Gunther will love them!

To thine own self be true! So is Bets going for the moody sarcasm leading Gunther to think he did something wrong?They may need to revisit the Pagoda of Peace again before this is over! ;-))

I like Dez, but her well-intentioned questioning was badly timed. Bets was in a good mood until Dez started talking to her. She recently made a big decision for herself and may have a bit of ’buyer’s remorse’ but was coping. Now all of her misgivings and reactions are near the surface again. I am not saying she needs to do nothing, but maybe channel her energies into something else creative. But she needs to regroup, which she was doing.

My take? Bets seriously misses her social media life and likely needs to go back to it to be happy. The issue is whether or not Gunther wants to put up with that; we will see.

Is self-awareness the reason Dez is only there for the other girls?

Bets does not seem to be taking any classes if she has that much free time. But Gunther does have a full schedule. This relationship will not last much longer like this. Bets needs professional help to sort out her many problems. She is estranged from her family, was addicted to social media and now she is trying to make Gunther the center of her life. All unhealthy.

I’ve never liked Bets; she seems very self-centered and insecure, like she always puts herself first and needs constant attention and validation.

Finding out who you are at this point in your life can be a painful process.

I like the way Dez has made Bets realize she has been floating down that river in Egypt for a while. I said a couple of days ago that Bets needed to seek professional help, but maybe Dez did what a therapist would have taken months to accomplish. I hope that Gunther can handle this without running to mommy.

Bets misses her fans. This “cozy” crap is for old folks. Gunther is prematurely ossified. Sad.

How are you going to watch 76 episodes in one sitting?

I want to see a long extended arc where, over time Bets and Luann finally become friends. This needs to happen so Gunther can have his old friend back again and so Bets can finally put to rest her jealousy. It’s senseless for her to feel this way about Luann and Bets would be a much better and healthier friend than Tara or Bernice. I know Luann will always be friends with both of them but she needs to expand her circle.

She does not feel like herself and lying around on the couch snacking and binge watching techish sci fi episodes w/ Gun is not a substitute for what is lacking. She needs to admit she has a problem which she wasn’t able to do w/ Dez; maybe with Gun she will.

Such a difference between Dez and Bernice when ending their conversations with Bets and Luann, respectively, regarding Bet’s loss of social media clout and Luann’s frustration over New Year’s resolutions. Dez just lets it go, while Bernice declares “victory”.

I enjoyed the original Battlestar Galactica but my biggest complaint is that after their civilization is destroyed, it seemed like the initial big focus of the main characters was finding a new “daggett” (i.e., a dog) for the kid (Boxy?). I remember someone saying “There are no daggetts on any of the ships”. I always figured that the only reason they were being so helpful to the kid was because his mother was Jane Seymour’s character. Oh well, we ended up getting the robotic “Muppy”, or whatever it was called.

Th Battlestar G show was a great commercial for Tektronix oscilloscopes. They were everwhere all over th set. Really dated th show

Strange when Gunther and Dez have matching hair and skin color. I wonder what kind of message the colourist is trying to send.

Bets is irritated because Dez pegged her.

At my age, dead is the final comfort I’m looking forward to.

Okay – the self absorbed lowlife is going to dump poor “Gun” again. Can we just get it over with and see her OFF the strip.

Bets is so comfy that she’s settling down into a mood. Gunther had best tread warily….

My question is, will they follow-up with “Caprica” when they’re finished with the BSG?

Just do him! It’s more fun that watching an old television series!!
