It is a common wish for many of us in the midst of a busy and harried day to feel rather haggard and wish we could substitute our lives for the seemingly bucolic life most of us try very hard to provide for our pets…. be they dog, cat, or some other species. When life feels cumbersome, we all envy a simpler, more tranquil lifestyle of simply DOING what comes naturally.

My wife used to say that about cats, until her vet said, “no, you want to be YOUR cat.” Same for Luann.

I read something about a Facebook group for discussion. If that is the only place for comments, I will miss everyone, since I am not on Facebook.

I like this Sunday page full of pictures of a happy Puddles and with Luann always near at him. I totally understand Luann. I wouldn’t mind being a cat.

I would modify that slightly: “In my next life, I’m going to be a dog living in a safe, loving home“.

The truth is not all homes for animals are created equal. Please donate to your local animal rescue.

Certainly Puddles has a great life. But not all dogs are so lucky.

Me too! They enjoy the heat w/o cleaning out the wood stove. They enjoy their food w/o cooking it.They play in the snow w/o having to shovel it!And they get lots of love for free!

Gasp!!! Luann is doing LAUNDRY! Will wonders never cease?! Seriously, I LOVE seeing her doing things around the house without complaining and whining like a 13 year old. I like seeing her behave like the actual young adult she is rather than a child. And she is taking care of Puddles even though she envies him.

Perhaps, but you only get 10-15 years of being pampered assuming you have good people to live with.

Very nice drawings and colorings today and Luann looks great! Relaxed, well groomed, clean room, doing laundry, taking care of her puppy. It’s so much more attractive than her confused, messed up day to day persona. Good boy Puddles!

I’ve often thought that. As long as it’s with a good family.

My grandmother was visiting one day and she said the same thing as she watched me baby/cater to my dog. Her specific words were, “I’m coming back as YOUR dog.” — LOLOL — Sure wish she would, I miss her.
