From Plot To Pot. A new restaurant takes form!

A TJ & Dez venture—who’da thunk it? Tiff is going to have to bellow “Time Out!” before things get totally out of control.

Hmmmm. TJ and Dez? They have something in common – interest in food. A budding partnership?

Entrepreneurs like Dez and TJ can teach Tiffany new business skills and strategies.

And, oh, Tiff, back there? Time to move on and implement your plan to build an empire. Going back to college or what? Or did you drop out and plan to wait tables for the time being? Or is it just that waiting tables is easier because life has turned too complicated the heavy?

One might want to check with the one who owns the kitchen before they get started on that venture.

I don’t think Tiff was to happy that Dez and TJ were talking over her.

I’ve never understood people who say mean things…You know – Like “Let’s go jogging!” or “Would you like some Kale?”

How would have ever thought TJ and DEZ.

This is a nice surprise. Tiff could still end up being the marketing person for the partnership, given her dad’s wealthy connections. It would be a natural thing to cater the high society weddings.

Maybe you should be like Delta, and make an epic meal for a Needy Family™. Dez would be impressed. Meanwhile, Tiff’s warning that the mansion’s kitchen is cursed falls on deaf ears.

Hello Luann oh how I’ve missed you! Or should I say, the real main character, Tiffany. In any case, it looks like we’re about to get a closer look at the infamous Farrell Mansion. Who wants to bet on Les “accidentally” walking out of Tiffs room while she’s leading him to the kitchen? Or Ann scaling the walls into her former room? Oh the possibilities! ( ◠‿◠ )

Is TJ going to cook something off premises and bring it into Kafe Kablooie? I think there are laws against that. Food has to be prepared on premises according to strict guidelines. At least that’s the case in my state. He should be very much aware of this, too, if it’s illegal.

Greg did a nice thing in today’s strip. In the first panel Dex, TJ and Tiffany are all together. In the second panel Tiffany is drawn smaller to make it look like she’s ten feet away from them and in the last panel she has to peer around Dez’s head to remind them that she’s still there. Nice use of visuall to compliment the story.

Hmmm, I wonder if this to be another “filler week” until some new idea strikes. I don’t see any romantic connection between TJ and Des.

Since we don’t know what type of food the K2 usually serves and could be similar to what he did when he had his food truck. If he wanted to go full-fledged, farm-to-market type restaurant and the kitchen isn’t large enough to make paella, that would require an expansion and consultation with his partners, the DeGroots and Uncle Al. Also, does Dez grow a sufficient amount to support as restaurant business? Too many questions and potential problems to solve here in spite of “comic strip physics”.

So the question is “where are the Evans heading with this, if anywhere”? Might Justine be there and a clash with TJ. Tiffany might be trying to tell them that Justine runs the kitchen and they need her approval. Could TJ hit it off with Justine, and if they are close in age, develop a mutual attraction? Stay tuned for the next “thrilling episode” (snark). :)

How come it is that most everyone has dots for eyes but Tiff has big white circles with dots. Just askin’.

Back when TJ had the food truck he was makinig all sorts of exotic foods in the small confines of the truck. When the truck blew up and he got a huge insurance payout he invested that in Kafe Kablooie inside the Fuse. Since he was designing the cafe from scratch the kitchen would have more room than the truck. So the problem of making any meal to bring home to Toni and Brad would lay in transporting the skillet paella is made in. So there’s no excuse for use the Ferrell’s kitchen. And as a chef we ought to assume that TJ has been getting fresh vegetables all along from the local famer’s market and you can;t get much fresher than that. So there is no reason why he would be interested in Dez’s little. So the only reason he is conspiring with Dez to cook kind of giant meal at Tiffany’s house is because the universe has twisted itself into a knot to bring about the silly ideas of the Gods of this universe. Much the way Bernice was magically transferred into Luann’s house. You would think after all this twisting and stretching and impossible developments the Luanniverse would collapse into a pile of stupid plot ideas.

Where would Dez have a garden? She lives in a dorm in college.

I am going to give up trying to match couples. I’m batting zero here. Maybe Morty is right and TJ isn’t the stella person I thought he was. It looks like he is using Tiff to get her kitchen and Dez to get her vegetables. I don’t think TJ is interested in either one of them. Like someone said poor Tiff getting smaller in each panel.

Tiff, just say No.

TJ, you’d better not be up to something sneaky or you’ll feel the wrath of Dez’s giant hoe.

TJ has long been a plotter, he doesn’t forget his friends – but he is #1. I expect his behavior. Earth mother Dez has sometimes shown a disregard for the schedules set by others, but it seems a little odd to me that she is ignoring the fact it is Tiff’s place and feelings.

First things first. as Tiff says……HELLO??!!

this will be great. I always wanted to be a chef when I was little.

I love where this is going. TJ and Dez can do something together to have fun and to share with their friends and Tiffany won’t be alone anymore. This could be the start of a series of parties between close friends and family. Maybe even a new business. But Tiffany has to agree and work with them. I love the possibilities of this trio!

Garden to Gourmet… Sounds like a vegan restaurant.

I think G&K just wanted to build this all up from a paella to “Let’s have a show!” food fest a la Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney.

Almost perfect! I did think it was heading in this direction, but I hope Tiff is onboard as well. So who will enjoy this gourmet garden meal? Or is there a “fly in the soup”? Lol! Wonder if arcs will change and we’ll return to this one in time for Thanksgiving? With everyone at the mansion?

Come to think of it, her appearance at the DeGroot’s was a first also!

It’s a bad idea to allow TJ into a McMansion’s kitchen IMHO. He has a rep of explosions and burnt casseroles and fires.

Dez, dear? Have you thought about asking your fellow community gardeners, what they think about about having the food they slaved and sweated to grow in the hot Summer sun, being ripped from the bosom of the Earth, and sent to some rich capitalists’ McMansion, so that the elite may dine in quiet, sneering splendor, instead of giving the food to the neighborhood poor? (Yeah, Yeah I KNOW. Dez can take Her share of the harvest and do with it as she darn well pleases)

Or perhaps, Dez will invite (Again without permission) her fellow community gardeners to the Farrell mansion to share in the feast. Or better still, plow up the front lawn and plant a new Super garden, and create a farmer’s market in the driveway.

Won’t poppa Tom be pleased when he gets home! And its gonna be FUN watching him throw EVERYBODY out the front door in quick succession, “Jazzy Jeff style.”

What an interesting development, Dez and TJ passions (not romantic, yet) intersecting over Tiffany’s kitchen. They almost forgot Tiffany, but I bet she will go along with this caper. Oh the storylines to be plumbed. Thanks Gnk this is why I keep coming back, always something new, something fascinating. That is why I counsel people who get bored to stay in, you might miss something then spend time trying to figure out what the tarnation is going on. Why there are more comments here than any other toon blog.

Ok – so where does TJ get off thinking that just because he is a chef he gets to go cook anywhere he wants? As for Dez, so far she hasn’t done anything too obnoxious, except for being really creepy and hunting down her friends (that she hasn’t seen in weeks) to try and get help in the garden. Just how much garden did she plant anyway?

I’m beginning to see that this may turn into a big party for friends — TJ was cooking for Toni and Brad, but now he has to feed Tiffany (it’s her house), Dez, (it’s her vegetbles) Bernice (Dez’s friend), Luann (Bermice’s friend) and Gunther, Bets, Crystal and Knutes just because. Oh, and Leslie because someone has to crap on the party.

Which might last a week if we’re lucky!

Can we give Tiffany props for being most mature here. She tried to prevent TJ from interrupting her conversation with Dez. Then TJ and Dez (who is thus far depicted without flaw) totally zone Tiff out.
