With AT&T, it’s very likely that the text didn’t get to the recipient until the next day.

Rat has been sending WhatsApp messages set to self-delete within 2 seconds received be the recipient read or not.

Then he texts … did you get my message?

Maybe they partially saw it when you first sent it, not totally.

I never do that. I ignore it and answer it two weeks later with “Sorry. I was having fun in real life while you were sending me memes.” :D I used to say “having sex” but my wife started to suspect it wasn’t a joke…

One of the salesmen for the company I worked for, which is based in the East Coast, was stationed in Oregon some years ago. He was one of the most technically un-savvy of employees. His excuse for not listening to voicemails from the home office was that “they take an extra day to get to the West Coast”. Could be a made-up excuse but I think he actually believed it.

My old phone had a blinking green light after a text came in. I miss that.

At least they responded. I don’t like the ones that end up in the black hole of being ignored with no response.

I’m not attached to my phone. I rarely notice texts when they come in. I probably should change the alert, but I just don’t care.

This can and does happen to those of us not tethered to our phones 24/7. I turn my phone off by 8pm and it stays off until about 7:30 am. I don’t want to be bothered by texts or calls during that time.

Many times I’m busy and can’t reply after reading it. Then 10 more texts come in and it gets buried and then I forget to reply. If you want a quick reply, call me.

I know my texts don’t get to me on time. I have numerous times had 1 of my kids come by to see me and say, “Didn’t you get my text? I told you I was coming.” And then a few minutes later my phone will ring and it will be the text they sent before leaving home.

If you text me I’ll get to you when I get to you. If it is urgent call. that is what phones are for. If it is not urgent text don’t be calling me for nonsense.

I don’t always have my cell phone near me. I don’t carry it around. So I DO miss texts. Yesterday was our 42 anniversary and at 8:15 AM my husband sent a text. I didn’t see it until he got home at noon. My phone was in another room and I have the notifications on very low.

I don’t religiously check my phone and email because I’m not everyone’s f’ing slave. The young today will ask if the relationship is over because the other person didn’t reply to the text in a few minutes, or they believe that person must be cheating. Madness.

When I was working, my phone was never on me, I left it in a drawer at work til I was done. Now that I’m at home, I sit at my computer playing games and reading comics, and my phone sits in a drawer…
